You have to remember these guys posting in here have Baton Rouge as their baseline for a college town. They will have all kinds of excuses when Dave Arnada turns them down just like their coordinator searches last year.
Dave Aranda moved his family from Madison, Wisconsin to Baton Rouge for the same position. Have you ever been to Waco, TX?

It's not 2003 anymore.
Nebraska right now is an great opportunity for even an average up and coming HC. Tons of support, good facilities, ability to pull top 25 classes and fans would be happy with 7 wins and a bowl game.

I’m assuming you are talking football only because it’s one of the best places to coach in baseball

Washington State and Oregon State have been good in the past…maybe not so much now…likely due to administrative incompetence and the “woke” mentality.

Wake capitalized twice on having an excellent coach and the ACC being a pile of shite
It’s still a tiny school with no facilities, no history, and at least 2 other better draws in their own state. Duke may also be a better draw but it’s close.

It's a matter of perspective from the coaches view point also. Not every coach has the desire to be Nick Saban. If there is a coach out there who is satisfied with winning 8 games every year and making it to a bowl game, Vandy and schools like it wouldn't be a bad job. Those schools don't expect to be in contention for a NC. Most of them don't expect to be in contention for a conference title. It amazes me how short our memories are. Going undefeated or having no more than one loss seems to be a prerequisite for the CFP. Even during the BCS era, a two loss LSU team won the NC in 2007. The concept that teams simply cannot afford to lose a game is a very new concept in college football and as a result, we all tend to think that if a coach loses 3-4 games in a season then they suck. That isn't always the case. The BCS/CFP have ruined some decent coaches careers in my opinion.

Great fishing around Waco.
Especially as you go East.
For the most part doesn’t have a great rep. 50 miles in Texas is like 10 in Louisiana. 50 mile radius isn’t too bad either

The criteria of best and worse is in the eye of the beholder.
Winning a national championship. These are all good candidates.
But keeping a good job long term depends upon a teams historic potential and fan/administration expectations and tolerance.
For example Texas, medium low to medium high potential, very high expectations, and low tolerance would be worse than Vandy.
Unasked, but the best P5 job for championship purposes for new or current coaches are LSU, USC, and Tennessee.
LSU very high potential (2nd most Nattys in the BCS/CFP era and 3 different coaches obtained the goal here) matches the very high expectations and low to moderate low tolerance. Both Southern Cal and Tennessee have high historical potential, and the expectations and tolerance factors have been beaten into submission by current failures.
