Scott is going to offer Lincoln Riley 12 million per year and make his best pitch to him forcing him to turn us down, it all comes down to one question, will he?

If he turns down 12 million and the best coaching job in the nation, he probably wasn't a good fit anyway.

He's not going to turn it down though

Let’s all be thankful you’re not writing the offer letter.

He's probably going to get a raise at OU.

So LSU, or whoever, is going to pay the football staff $15-$20 million a year? Not a chance in hell

Yes they will because of the extra 10+ million coming in starting in 2024 from espn.

Lincoln Riley has a $10m buyout

Just pointing that out. It used to be about $4m but went up with his recent raise/extension

Maybe LSU still makes it happen, I hope so, just pointing that out

@ $12 million a year?! Idk if OU can/will match that kind of money. Like i said in an earlier thread...that would make him one of the top 3 highest paid head coaches in ALL OF FOOTBALL. Belichick is reportedly making slightly above that at $12.5 mil a year and gruden was making slightly below at $11 mil a year with the raiders...thats the two highest paid coaches in football as of right now (obviously grudens contract is terminated now). Riley and OU would have to partake in a serious come to Jesus talk about that for sure and idk if they could/would be able to compete if LSU was willing to offer that kind of money from the jump. Thats some we're not fricking around money right there. Its so much that i would even question whether we couldnt do better than riley with that type of financial commitment right out of the gate, just to start negotiations. We could honestly get ANY coach/agent to listen to us, take us seriously, and question their future with that frick load of cash.

Prior to the rise of Caleb Williams, I think he'd be crazy to say no.

Now my guess is that he thinks he has a NCG winning QB with Caleb, and as long as Oklahoma gets within range ($10m would do it), he's going to stay. OU can match us dollar for dollar.

Of course he could bring Caleb with him...

The offer to him is $10M.

He is not coming for that offer. And LSU isn't going to pay that much every year + a $9M buyout. Then risk this guy flaming out in the SEC.

A coach will have to have a trophy or two in his case, to get anywhere near $12M.

Do not want Riley. I do not think he is cut out for the SEC. His schedule is a cake-walk. Can he compete and prepare for every game in SEC?
