He probably doesn’t know who it is but he mentioned Wednesday multiple times so that part is probably true. Within the context of their conversation, which was basically “let Woodward do his job, don’t believe rumors because he doesn’t let info slip anyway, etc”, he could have easily just said the announcement would be soon without getting tied into a specific day.

We just won a national championship with Ed O. Has everyone forgotten that? Last coaching search we settled for Ole Miss worst head coach ever and it brought us the best college football team ever. Everyone needs to calm down. Will the new coach be the splash hire everyone wants, probably not. But I guarantee he will be more qualified than the last guy we hired and look how that turned out, everything will work out.
