I dont. Im just pointing out that a lot of people are falling for the "done deal" line again. We don't learn our lesson. I hope it's Riley. I cant think of a coach I would want over him. But I have no confidence in it being Riley when "done deal" is reported with him still having 3 games.

Guys, if right now with 2 weeks left Riley is a "done deal" - he's not going to be our coach. Lets pretend that its true and they came to some agreement or memo of understanding today. The fact that it gets out and blows up with 2 weeks left to go does not bode well for us. Puts Riley in an awkward spot and opens the door for him to negotiate and remain at OU.
Its not a "done deal" until the contract is signed and he's on the plane. Even a memorandum of understanding does not mean a thing. But this board is gonna do its thing.
Why do you act like Riley is our only option? We actually have options, damn good options this go round. Now, if we miss out on Riley and Aranda goes elsewhere to the west, yeah, I’m gonna be one angry little goose.

I don't think any of the insiders have said the ink has dried or that it's a done deal, they've simply said we're in negotiations and that things with Riley are moving in a positive direction.

Perhaps the insiders didn't say "done deal verbatim" but "a whale has been harpooned" caused others to say "I cant believe Scott got this done" and others to start threads speculating on who Riley's staff is going to be.
I'm just saying we have a recent pattern that should lead us to believe that if this is the leak at this point then its not going to be Riley. You can get mad at that and explain away all the reasons the other hires didn't happen but you cant deny the pattern.
I mean what is it, guys? Does Woody play things so close to the vest and send out smokescreens or does shite leak out?

Worked out good on both fronts..... 2019 woulda never happened with Herman or Jimbo. Hell Jimbo would be fired by now and not sitting on a 100 mill guarantee at his ranch with 3 losses....

Why are some of you like this? We don’t care. Let people be excited. Most of us know this isn’t done. Doesn’t make it any less fun.
You aren’t the only one to have this thought. frick, you’re like the 73rd to make this same thread. I can’t figure out what’s more annoying, random people with sources or threads like this where people think they’re the only ones intellectually capable of realizing we are probably getting fricked.. Just shut the frick up and enjoy yourself.

No, Alleva let Les linger in the program without a decision on whether he'd be retained or not and then let him get carried off after aTm game and LSU/Alleva didn't fire Miles like they should have after that. It didn't "fall through" because of leaks. It fell through because miles became a victim and gained player/fan support when he shouldn't have.

KOS - thank God that didn't happen
Bianco - thank God for the leak so it didn't happen. And Moscona was screaming done deal and "he will be announced on Monday" if it fell through because of a leak, then thank god
Casey wasn't happening. No one said done deal, he was just mentioned as interviewing
