UW is a football school, ucla is a basketball school. UW is a WAY better job for a football coach.

UCLA will always be a little sister to USC when it comes to football. Whereas in Wash. they are the Big Sister over Wash. State.

A football school that hasn't won big in football in a long time.

Well, they've won a national championship in football more recently than ucla has. They have more tradition (Don James >>> Terry Donohue) and they routinely fill a beautifully upgraded on-campus stadium. Jim Mora is a VERY good coach, and ucla is lucky to have had him for a stretch. I would be very surprised (and somewhat disappointed) if he did not leave the bRuins for his self-proclaimed "dream job" on the shores of Lake Washington.

How would you feel knowing UW totally upgraded after you took their coach?

Don James was a long time ago, and his best years was during some very dark years for USC. Washington raided so cal for talent in those years. He also didn't have to compete with a financial juggernaut in Oregon.

Not going to argue over UW having better facilites than UCLA, but your ability to win at high level just seems easier with the Bruins.

Considering ucla is being downgraded, and UW is in the PAC-12 North, I'd say that's a win for us.

Yep, that'd work for me.

UW has much better alumni support for football than ucla does. I won't deny that Southern California is a much more fertile recruiting ground than the Pacific Northwest, but a great many of UW's players are from California, including QB Keith Price. All the PAC schools recruit down in So Cal, and ucla isn't guaranteed the cream of the crop just because of a brief spike of football competence in Mora's tenure.

What's making this fun for me is the absolute denial by the bRuin board mods that Mora is in any way tempted to leave Westwood.

THe way I see it UW would be upgraded with Mora, USC is downgraded with Sark, and UCLA would be unknown.

USC just hired a coach that is 2-15 vs. Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, and ASU. The whole confernce is rejoicing.

People would be foolish to deny he wouldn't be tempted. But let's get real, if he didn't play at UW he would no way leave UCLA for Washington. His connection to the school is the only reason UW may land him.

If Mora goes to UW, and he probably will, it'd be awesome to see the Bruins hire Ed O. He would majorly frick with So Cal.

Nah. We pretty much know that whoever ucla gets isn't going to be as good as Mora. And Sark at USC might not be so bad. He's bringing Tosh Lupoi, the boy wonder of recruiting with him, or so I'm told, so the talent will follow. Sanctions are over after this recruiting cycle, so I don't think USC will get anything but better from here on out.

Not at Udub,

Besides, if Mora says no (he won't ) then Udub could be screwed looking for a good coach. They don't/can't risk falling to the basement again.
