Will be an extremely hard pull, as it looks like Saban, Jimbo, and Taggert all tried to pull him from Wisconsin within the last year or two. He’s taking those 3 star farm boys and turning them into a wrecking machine on defense, 4th in total defense this past year, imagine what he could do on the bayou, would be a homerun hire. I think $2 million would make it extremely hard to turn down LSU

The biggest raise is reserved for Wisconsin defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard however. After doing a terrific job with the Badgers since taking over, the former star player at the school will go from $600,000 a year to a total of $966,666.

Would put out feelers knowing he's destined to stay there, much like what a&m just did with Raymond.

You have to make him say no. Just kike poster above said on A&M and Raymond. You don’t make great hires if you don’t ask.

their schedule isn't much tougher than Clemson's schedule. That conference sucks pretty badly too.

In case anyone doubts this, since 2016 Wisconsin has, in total, 9 players ranked 4 * or higher. Only one of which is a 5 *. 2019 had them with 1 5* & 2 4* with only 19 total commits. This was their highest ranked recruiting season and the second highest tor]tal commits. In that time frame they have not had a 25 player recruiting class, 22 being the highest. Not sure if that’s due to lack of attrition if they hand out scholarships to walk ons, etc. considering their performance over the last several years, I’d say the whole coaching staff are overachievers.

To contrast, LSU had 11 4* and 3 5* players just in 2019. Alabama was 23 4* & 3 5* in 2019 with only 1 3*. Michigan was 14 4* & 2 5* in 2019.

Yes it is. That conference may not be the SEC but it is the second toughest conference in virtually everyone’s opinion. The ACC is PAC-12 level bad, maybe worse if you take Clemson out.

He would be a home run, no doubt. I would offer him Aranda's salary and make him turn you down.

Lots of smoke with Richard also, another home run hire.

Total defense is an outdated stat to gauge how good a defense is. Points per play and yards per play are much better. Wisconsin was 12th and 6th respectively, which is still really good.

They were able to hang in with a better Ohio St even with their offense not even showing up the first game and only for a half in the Big 10 Championship. They also laid the smack down in Minnesota’s offense on the road. This guy is legit.

I doubt he leaves, but like others have said, you make him say no. Most people wouldn’t have thought that Venables would leave a great setup at Oklahoma to be the DC at Clemson at the tile, either. You have to press the issue to make things happen.

I don’t care if he’s a Wisky Alum, $2-$2.5 million/year would make me pull up roots and go somewhere else

4 or 5 4 stars in this class, which will be UW's highest ranked ever. It's not full yet either. Recruiting is on the upswing, partly thanks to Leonhard.

Some walk ons do get upgraded to schollies, so that does impact how many they take, although I think they may get 25 this year. Haven't checked.

He's said he wants to build something at UW so I don't think he is going to go anywhere. Former walk on himself.

I think he only leaves Wisky for a Pro DC job or a HC job.

OSU went through his defense like a hot knife thru butter. He rocks against inferior teams!

NO THANKS!
