Well, I assume you can't control that, but you can write a contract that takes all of his administrative hiring power away and limits his power within the athletic office.

Bobby is lobbying for the Auburn job right now, big-time. Jay Jacobs has him on the back burner if we can't pull Patterson (or Peterson) or Jimbo. We have Bobby by the nuts, I believe.

Because it's even harder to hire a coach without an AD in place. AD hires are not as fast as coaching hires, you can also fire an AD at any point during the year, unlike coaching. His job will be dependent on the hire and where AU athletics go from now till about mid year next year

If Auburn doesn't want to give control up, it's a perfect match, IMO. Petrino won't get a job that doesn't have built in minders, and Auburn likes to keep their coaches minding.

Unfortunately, you are right. I hope we can somehow swing Patterson. The fact that he's willing to interview again shows what he thinks about the job.

It has nothing to do with the creed or anything of that nature, I just think that Auburn can do better than a coach that both Kentucky and Colorado rejected as a candidate.
Petrino's biggest accomplishment is being the first SEC team to lose to the Big 10 in a BCS bowl. Gene Chizik has more NC's as a HC and Assistant than he does. He plays below average defense in a defense firt league. . . I could go on and on but my aversion to Bobby is more than his relationship with the volleyball player

I don't want Petrino and he is not a serious candidate at Tennessee. The guy is a winner, but he's just left too much of a mess in his wake at every stop.

No way Petrino gets an SEC job 7 months after getting canned for pulling his shite. The move would wreak of desperation.
