One of the insiders on BOL is saying one of his friends is a booster at UT and that Chaney will leave after NSD to "pursue other interests".

Another poster posted in that thread said that he was leaving for an NFL job. Said that info was coming from the Titans front office and this was all per Vol Quest.

He's a good coach.

It would make sense if he's coveted.

I have heard the same, but I doubt he could get an NFL OC job. Most Vol fans wanted him and Hiestand fired after the UK game.

Kiffin would have been a threat at UT IMO. Sucks that he couldn't stay out of trouble though.

it's possible. Rumor is the Titans QB's coach and passing game coordinator might be getting an OC job.

Good Lord! That leaves Hinshaw and Joseph as the only holdovers from last year's staff.

Sad thing for Vol fans is that I'm afraid this provides a built in excuse for any shortcomings we are going to have this year. Dooley can no longer use the "we're a young team" excuse, but now will have a choice between "we're have a completely new staff" and/or (if the rumors are true) "we're switching to a 3-4 defense and need to get the appropriate players to run that scheme".

I personally don't see Chaney leaving. Everybody else to me, made sense. Chaney seems pretty settled here, and I actually think he's done ok with the offense. The run blocking was the problem last year, not the play calling, imo. The OL couldn't move a man an inch.

I didn't like two coaches from last year, OL Hiestand and S&C McKeefery. Hiestand is gone. But I admit, I judge that knowing very little about their coaching, I just thought the results sucked. That being said, I'm willing to give people time, this stuff doesn't happen over night.

I know Chaney wants out. Doesn't want to be on the ship when it goes down. I don't know if he was planning to leave after signing day or if it was confirmed, but I didn't expect him to hang around any longer than he had to.

I get why you don't like Hiestand but what's up with McKefeery? He's supposed to be one of the best in the business.

It is hard to judge as only a fan, but watching the youtube videos, and comparing them to Bama's workouts, the intensity and routines seem amatuer. That was before the season. And then watching the O-Line not being able to move a man an inch, which is brute strength (as well as footwork and technique). Now I could also go into condititioning and speed, but we all know UT is thin and talent depleted, so I won't judge that. But I was expecting more from the O-Line.
