Very Unrealistic to believe Fisher/Sexton shut it down this early

He has a game to play tomorrow. No question he will want to coach this game before diving into the media driven frenzy that we have going on now.
We've talked to Jimbo for 2 years, do you believe in 24 hrs we would "close the door"? Would LSU tell anyone even if this was the case?
Seems to me like some people are getting played here with this "fisher isn't an option" deal. Sexton will push this to the point of at least pressuring FSU even if Jimbo passes on LSU.

All aboard the Jimbo jet

I do think it is a little strange that by most accounts Jimbo was coming last year till Alexander fricked it up and now he's asking for the largest contract ever given to a coach.
Unless last year's debacle pissed him off very badly.

They didn't plan on LSU walking away from the table. They were left with their pants down when they turned to try and leverage more out of FSU.

Good point. Sexton hasn't got his annual million dollar bonus. I'm not sure he can feed the family

I would have shut the door on LSU after that cluster frick at the end of last season. Only at LSU.

I agree that Sexton is not going to shut things down until he gets Jimbo his raise and new contract.
it's possible that LSU has given up on him and left the negotiation (could return tho) and is concentrating on Herman. that would be a good move, imo. if LSU gets Herman, maybe Jimbo don't get his raise. frick Sexton.

True. If LSU and Texas had to wait until after the UH game, why doesn't the same apply with Jimbo?

That's actually a good point. We've heard nothing about FSU offering him a raise or even being in talks, and there is no way sexton would pass on this golden opportunity to juice his clients contract.

Jimbo is at 5.25 mil with little control of his assistants pay.
Did he really shoot down LSU's offer of 6.8 with the highest paid staff in college football?
Forgive me for not believing the "it's Herman or Coach O" talk after 2 years of come home Jimbo and Allevas affinity for Jimbo.

Idk what the deal is but hard to believe Alleva will announce O when he's on thin ice.

Is it unrealistic to believe sexton got to greedy? I say it's probably very accurate
