Verge is likely doing some of the early leg work on these coaches, background, talking to agents to gauge interest and contract demands etc then when they pick the new AD Verge can hand him all the work he has done or not done and work with him and the BOS to pick the new coach

General manager more important than AD. This is NFL model now and r the boosters are the owners

They all very clearly lack media training. Just a poor decision to address a complex situation.
So, having Verge bring up the point that LSU Athletics isn't broken might not have been the best approach in your opinion?

They just fired James Franklin. He and Kelly are the same coach.
I don't want Franklin either, but to play devil's advocate, he's like 10 years younger than BK, and because he was fired, likely has a massive chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong. I don't think he's the same coach.
At the very least, he'll have a high floor, and the odds of him mentally checking out like BK are minimal. He'd actually be the perfect guy to try a more incentive-laden contract with.

Verge and Austin Thomas should have just had a quick ten minute press conference to let the fans know Landry isn't involved and the search will be swift and thorough.
It's like everyone wants their fifteen mins of fame.
Louisiana politics at it's finest.

Boosters and Verge.
Going to go great.

Going to go great.

They BOS guy is saying they want to find a coach before an AD, so that's that i guess.
Read on a paysite and also heard from a friend in the media the same thing, and that is they will potentially use helping choose the AD as part of the offer to a new head coach. Basically let them be a part of the process of picking their boss.

I'm sorry, but I absolutely do.
Big game James.
You fire a coach to hire another recently fired failure at a big school.
I can't comprehend this.

James Franklin's record against top-10 teams is 4-21, with this data reflecting his time at both Vanderbilt and Penn State. At Penn State specifically, his record was 4-21 against AP top-10 opponents, which includes a 1-18 record against top-10 Big Ten teams.
If these stats are even remotely accurate then Franklin can GTFO.
