Holy shite. Just get Vandy out of the SEC. They appear to have no interest in trying to field a competitive football program.

Who do you expect them to hire? This would be a pretty decent hire for them IMO.

Really?

Al Golden took a worthless POS program that got kicked out of its conference and from 2006 to now has gone.

1-11
4-8
5-7
9-4
This season 8-4.

vandy really does need to come up with a young guy who has been a positions coach at a big school. a guy who can basically use vandy as a stepping stone and help bring interest to vandy in the process.

Hiring Al Golden would be a move that would show interest in fielding a competitive football program.

Al Golden is probably the closest thing to a homerun for Vandy.

so what is it you don't like about Golden? Just that he coaches in the MAC. He is one of the top coaching candidates to get a better job in the country.

The fact that the meat of his resume includes Temple and UVA.

MAC. Turner Gill was a hot MAC commodity as well.

Granted. I believe Vandy will cement that attitude of "it's just Vandy" with it's future hire.

That would be their best hire, maybe ever. Golden is destined for the big time. I doubt he would take that job. He's already in purgatory. He should be able to get a job that can be more competitive.
