You know Orgeron could hire him right. You guys are so messed up in the head thinking Saban just wants to mess with you, LOL.

I guess you're just not very ambitious? The last two Bama DCs have gotten SEC head coaching jobs.

Seems like half the SEC is from the Saban coaching tree. Not a bad career move to be on staff with Saban.

UTSA can't match LSU salary for Raymond

If Raymond has coordinator aspirations then that's obviously something LSU can't offer.

Going from UTSA to Bama is a crazy big step up

I'd think by now being a Bama DC would require atleast one season of shadow staffing

Idk Most of the speculation says Golding (UTSA DC/CB coach) will more likely be named a Co-DC & position coach. Lupoi is already CoDC/OLB coach. Ansley is Bama's DBs coach. Smart & Pruitt both had experience coaching DBs before becoming DCs.

Alabama hires UTSA's Pete Golding as assistant coach | al.com
quote:

Alabama has hired Texas-San Antonio defensive coordinator Pete Golding as an assistant coach, coach Nick Saban announced Friday night.

Golding will fill the 10th assistant spot that will be available to the Crimson Tide and other schools beginning January 9, Saban said. Golding can't be activated as an on-field coach until January 9, the day after the national title game.

Saban didn't say what Golding's role will be aside from saying that Golding will work on the defensive side of the ball.

"We'll address the other staff issues when we get finished playing," Saban said. "I don't have time right now to do a search, get ready for this game, recruit, have an early signing date and try to hire coaches, too. There's not enough time in the day."

Led by Golding, UTSA is ranked in the top-10 nationally in both total defense and scoring defense.

Golding is Hammond trash, Bama will regret this hire.

Who else would come to run Saban's defense?

A more established DC would want to run his own defense, not Saban's.

Fits Saban's mold of a young up and comer he can teach.

Seems like a good fit to me.

I believe Frank Wilson is a great coach and Golding has Frank's seal of approval. And, for Saban to hire him he must be very good.

Actually is considering they've had a D1 football program less than a decade. And not a D2 school moving up to D1 BUT a never had a program, and built from scratch type shite.
