If urban is your choice... then you don't deserve a vote.

Hey I get it, coaches just have to stay out of places that are compromising . I understand it was his place of business. You just have to be smarter than that. Women are men’s weakest link, but at the same time biblically speaking they are the strongest link. I just don’t believe Woodward will take a chance like that.

So easy to negative recruit

I have a greater chance of being LSU's next head football coach than Urban Meyer. Please stop. He's not coming to LSU.

If you are looking for a coach with all the qualities described on this board then you will disappointed.
These coaches are humans and will make stupid mistakes like any of us.
The top tier coaches in the list are all strange dudes, they sleep at the office, they work longer hours than any of us, are addicted to success and winning, and they too are subject to fail and make risky decisions that impact their families.
So if we hire a coach today with a clean bill of health, doesn’t mean he won’t be tempted and acts upon improper behavior. No one is perfect stop looking for that guy.
You get the best coach that has the most upside right now.

Look at this totally-lacking-in-self-awareness Bama choad.

I like Urban, but I don't want the BS that comes with him. 2-3 yrs and the health issues.. I want the next coach to be here for at least 5yrs.
Urban was at Florida for 6 seasons. In that time won TWO National Championships and had a 3rd undefeated regular (lost to Alabama in SECCG) that would have put him in the playoffs today.
He was at Ohio St for 7 seasons. During that time he compiled an 83-9 record...finishing first in his division every single year, along with making the playoffs twice (would have played for the 2012 NC if eligible) and winning a NC.
If you told me the next LSU HC is only going to be here for 6 seasons. But during those 6 he's going to make the playoffs 2-3 times and win 1-2 National Championships, I'd take that deal in a second.
There is no guarantee ANYONE who LSU hires will have championship level success here. But if past history is the best predictor of future results then there is no one besides Saban who has a better resume.
My very first call 6 weeks ago would have been to Urban's agent asking if he was really happy in the NFL (with ALL indications pointing to that being a poor fit for both him and the Jaguars). If he says Urban is interested in returning to CFB at LSU then the search ends there and you start working on a way to make that happen!

Especially if he hires great assistants, and when he does leave in 6 seasons leaves the program in the hands of a coach as good as Ryan Day.

Yes, Urban has baggage. Yes, it’s a long shot. But past performance at the college level, in my opinion, leaves no doubt that he would be the most successful hire.
Urban comes with the added bonus of a quick end to Nick Saban and Alabama being good. If we hire Urban this year Nick Saban retires next year.

He spent 6 years at Florida and 7 years at OSU. Sounds like he meets your criteria.

The thing about urban is that he's a builder. theres probably none better at building a successful program quickly. where he runs out of gas is maintaining, which is why he burns out after 3-5 years. so the question becomes would you take having to replace the coach again in 5 years in order to compete for championships every year during that span? personally i'm for it

With Scott Woodward at the helm I wouldn't be so sure of that bet!
