This isn’t difficult. He is ranked #1 by 247. Look at who he is listed as recruiter for and how he got that ranking, then compare that to other highly ranked coaches. They recruit outside of their position groups constantly.
Frank is an elite recruiter, anyone trying to diminish that has an agenda. Lane will either retain him or he won’t, but he certainly knows what he brings to the table.

Nobody is agonizing and fretting over ways to keep Frank Wilson. The handwriting is on the wall that he has no place on Lane Kiffin’s coaching staff.

There are no rules about specific titles for the coaches who count toward the 11 recruiters. They could just make him the running game coordinator (in name only) or fullback coach or something else with no specific meaning or responsibility.
