A lot of Buzz around H-Town that Dana Holgerson is a done deal. If that falls through they will push for Kliff Kingsbury.

Did I miss something? Did Holgerson get fired from WVU? If not why would he leave for UH?

Holgerson lives in Houston as is and he can get comparable money at home with no state income tax. Also, he can get comparable talent to come to Houston.

He lives in Houston and is the wvu coach? I could see him take the job, win big for a few years than bolt to the sec for $

Not to mention him and Fertita are good friends. That helps as well.

Holgerson's permanent home is in Houston.

Even after 8 years in Morgantown? Yeah that’s definitely a man looking to bolt at the end of each season.

He should look no further than UCF to see why that's a bad idea. Not that I think Dana Holgorsen is gonna win a title at WVU but he's got a way better shot at making it to the playoff there over Houston.

Before this year, WVU only twice finished the season ranked in Holgorsen’s 7 years there.

If he’s going to UH, much of the decision will be driven by a mutual desire between him and WVU to part ways.

Bwahahahaha...what? Why? This would make zero sense unless UH is so fricking stupid they're doubling Dana's salary.

Kingsbury has turned down a “lucrative offer” from Houston per Brett McMurphy

Bruce Feldman just said on his podcast that he’d be surprised if it’s not Holgerson

He might take the job but he definitely lives in Morgantown, not Houston. He just built a new house on the lake a couple years ago.

There are several reasons why he might prefer coaching at UH, including that he probably just had his best team at WVU and finished 3rd (or 4th?) in the Big12.

He seems to have run his course at WVU. And it's been established that a good coach can have success at UH quickly.

Before Major's firing, I would have said that the pressure to win is lower at UH than at WVU too, but that's questionable at this point.

Same salary (or thereabouts). Guaranteeing more of it which is Dana's biggest beef at WVU. If he were fired today, his buyout from the school would be substantially less than it would have been in his first contract.

I was just hearing he wanted another extension and WVU wouldn't do it unless they reworked his buyout. Neither side could agree so he's leaving. I doubt he'll be at UofH long.
