Chip Kelly definitely goes West.

I don't know why he would play us. He was not the initial target, he became the target after he made his interest known.

They do this to create a bidding war. I’m sure he and his agent have a very detailed plan.

AD’s tend to panic in these situations. Joe Alleva certainly did.

Oh, so NOW you wanna admit that?

Florida's #1 target was Frost, and he told the he wasn't interested. So, they turned to Kelly. Kelly forced UCLA's hand, and now Twitter is already lit up with their fans extremely confident that they're going to land him. Florida will be left with Option #3, Charlie Strong. It's as simple as that, and it doesn't take a brilliant person to figure it out.

Wouldn’t Florida want Taggart over Strong?

Apparently one of Florida's bigwigs has wanted Strong from the start. That's why I think he is who they'll go after next, after they try Frost again (and fail).

Frost was an early target, but he was never a #1 target over Kelly.

I see it more like the Herman situation. Until the last week of the season, there were reports that Strong might get another year. Then the news leaked that Herman was heading to LSU and Texas finally made a move.

I think this would be more about personal preference than money. If it was just about who could pay more and spent more of the budget on football, UCLA doesn't even crack the top 25 in athletic revenue and spends significantly less than UF on athletics while supporting far more sports. IMO, it would be more of a lifestyle choice.

If he wants to win a national title (which he has yet to do) and compete against the best, then he should go to FLA. If he is content winning the PAC and getting beat in the playoff/NY6 bowl once every 4-5 years then he'll go to UCLA. There would be less pressure there because they don't have nearly the caliber of program that FLA does.

A much better option for Chip. Expectations are nowhere near as high as UF.

I'm sure Chip is elated he gets to avoid the craziness that is recruiting in the SEC.
