Chip will recruit better at UCLA than Oregon. You are kidding yourself if you don’t think the right coach can’t win a Natty at UCLA. It’s LA, great academics and SoCal has talent. The only thing holding them back is the administration.

So is it a sure thing or are they in play?

Florida would pay literally whatever it took to land Chip. If they offered 5/30 we would offer 6/35, I'm sure of it. So we would pay more in a no-tax state and he would have a blank check on facilities and assistants.

If he wants SoCal, which no one has any proof he would prefer btw, it would purely be a lifestyle/neighborhood situation, which would make us not particularly relevant in the first place.

Getting fired on your birthday has to suck.

Unless you walk out with a 7million dollar payday then its not so bad.

Choosing between Florida and UCLA is a no brainer.

No need to kick Gator fans while they're down.

You mean like Jimbo Fisher AND Tom Herman played LSU.

Fired on your birthday or left on the tarmac, which is worse?

If that bastard couldn't cut it at Texas in the Big 12, how in the name of hell will he cut it in the SEC at Florida. I would be surprised if Charley landed there.

You underestimate just how fricked the culture is at UT. I honestly believe that Strong would do pretty well at Florida, he’s done a solid job everywhere besides UT and he failed for reasons outside of his control there from what I’ve gathered

That school is fricking nuts. How anybody can succeed there is beyond me.

I think he played UF just like Jimbo did LSU last year.

I see it more like the Herman situation. Until the last week of the season, there were reports that Strong might get another year. Then the news leaked that Herman was heading to LSU and Texas finally made a move.

Exactly. With Mora's buyout of $12 million hanging over their heads, UCLA was never going to fire him now. Unless they had Kelly ready to sign. Kelly doesn't put UCLA into an expensive panic firing of Mora unless he has guaranteed Westwood that he'll come.

It's also evident that Kelly and the UCLA AD have been talking for a long time.
