That’s more than two cents

2019 was the same year that CP retired also and 2019 SW came to BR. CP retired because his friend finally got the big job, so CP said I’ll take a break til O leaves LSU. Which was a few years and now he is ready for coaching again. Yea I can see it. And it is true he’s under contract with Fox. I will say this if this happens this is Major. Everything is very quiet right now and guess what, SW doesn’t have to pay a buyout for him on top of everything else. CP is a steal for a big job like LSU. CP at LSU will be a game changer for the Tigers trust me on that, the man can out right coach and recruit.

But, no way did Woodward sabotage CEO.
Totally agree with this.

Ed did that all himself. Ed started a pattern of escalating self-destruction after winning the NC, and it showed in his hires and on the field.
And unfortunately in his personal life too. It's just O's personality trait. I like the guy but his personality is prone to to massive highs and lows. If something is not going right for O he seems to take the approach that he needs to do a 180 on the decision when all it really needs is slight tweak. Furthermore his process seems ad hoc. There doesn't appear to be daily objective measures to keep the program moving in the right direction. Coach O needs a daddy to keep him straight. It's just a theory, but I believe Coach E had a lot more to do with keeping O focused during the championship run than people realize.

Totally agree. Eventually you run out of ideas and then are forced to recycle. And if you can't do that then you start running though the people (you fire Acme and go to A+ Boobytraps), but that doesn't fix the plan and it becomes a downward spiral. Exactly what Ed did.
ETA: I'll add- exactly what is beginning to happen at UF too.

I read all of it, The only thing I don’t agree on is Scott Sabotaging O, O did that to himself. And I agree I think the Reason why Petersen hasn’t been mentioned if he is the coach is because of his Fox Contract. I would be so happy if it was Petersen! A lot of people don’t think he has it in him, trust me I believe he does.
Also I seen that video before, it’s a great video, Chris is a Goat for Driving a Boat to work.

I guess you edited this to make it easier to read vs a wall of text? If so, thanks.
Don’t agree about the sabotage of O either. No need to help someone that self sabotages themself.
Anyone who thinks he wouldn’t be a homerun hire doesn’t have an opinion worth listening to concerning football.

IF Woodward stymied the hires, I think he was completely justified in doing so. I think you have to put the timing and my base premise into context. Yes, O was a mess waiting to happen from the jump, for all the reasons we state daily about him now. My premise is that SW knew exactly who O was, on and off the field before he came to BR in 2019. SW made his mind up when he took the job that O had to go. Then the magic of 2019 happened. SW unexpectedly had the unenviable task of pushing the homegrown, Natty-winning Coach of the Year out of the door asap.
One has to look at things from Woodward's perspective. O had a great year. Woodward wants, and is paid to, bring in a great LSU decade. So O had to go.
It's certain that SW was aware of the particulars of O's exposure on the Title 9. Thus far, O weathered that, but not without a survivable PR hit. Knowing this prior, SW had to also hobble the on the field effort tonstack the deck and make the case to let O go in a manner which even the hardest O supporter now has to nod and get behind...less than 2 years post-Natty.
Has anyone ever wondered how there was not a coordinator line forming to the right outside the front office and halfway down the road after the showing LSU made in 2019? If you say, yeah, "because they all didn't wanna work for O," you're making SW's point for him. But for the money and exposure being with LSU in the afterglow of the Natty, even the most skeptical coach would gladly suffer O to get the press, respect and another more profitable gig. Yet, all we got was Pelini and Linehan? I think, under my premise, this casts Bo Pelini not merely as a hapless, hasbeen coach lucky to get a nod, but more of a rented whore, eager to sell his reputation, such as it was, for that nice go away check. And Linehan wasn't exactly in demand so he got his payday to hang out on campus a bit, too. O caught himself just short of explaining it all in public a while ago, did he not? Pundits and fan alike laughter at his earnestness for saying such things, but he simply is too mentally hohum at 60 to do any better.
Then Covid happened. O got divorced and started scouting local talent, with his new raise (don't knock SW for giving it to him, it's the cost of doing business.) The self-destruction of the Cajun baw began, all of it pretty much due to O just being O.
Covid actually worked against SW's plan. It gave O the mulligan, and an opportunity to reset with new staff and the extended eligibility. O did his part and got this good freshman class home.
It didn't matter to the "retired" CP; he got to sit at home on the locked-down West Coast and make up for all that wasted time away from the wife and his life. (I would kill to have his crib in Seattle, that shite be nice!). "Retire to recharge" was his quote from soon after his last game. So, chill he did, as best he could out west in a weird liberal locked-down West. No worries. No hurries. ...He let the BLM stuff pass on by as well. Probably wiped his brow and thanked God he got to miss all that bs in Seattle.
Again, 2021. Here comes 2 unknowns to LSU after the horror of 2020. Same logic applies as before with Bo and Linehan, but with upstarts, not burnouts. How is LSU with the deep pockets and TV glamour for a coach, only able to pull Peetz and Jones, especially in a clutch year for O specifically, and also the program as a whole? It doesn't jibe. Unless the fix has been in.
After UCLA, SW had his proof of concept. The ball started rolling.
...maybe!

I take the opposite view. For the longterm good, it was completely justified and needed. Regardless of whether it's CP or whomever LSU hires. Woody had to get him gone.
