Rees thought his coach and mentor made the wrong choice and got in his feelings. Then he saw his coach win the SEC West and beat Bama and said man he was right.

LSU did lose to Texas A&M! How was that better when ED Orgeron beat Fisher and Kelly couldn't. Same thing for losing to UGA while Ed is undefeated against Kirby at UGA.

That's how you rationalize hiring Tommy Rees I suppose

All that needs to be said

I don't think anyone here cares about Tommy Rees. I didn't even want him last year.

I don't understand this move at all. Saban must've needed to really reach deep into the well to get this guy. Who wanted him? I'd be concerned if I was a Bama fan. I doubt BK is living inside Saban's head rent free that bad.

Not the first time Saban has tried to hire him. He seems to really like Rees. Requested an interview in 2019 for a position coach role.

Interesting hire. Rees is very green as an OC and play caller. Saban seems to have a solid offensive system, but BOB showed that play calling still matters. Rees comes from more of a QB friendly run based offense so maybe he won’t throw the ball 3 times and go 3 and out when having a successful running game

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

You see NDs offensive stats under him drop as he was given more control. Is next year was when BK was controlling the offense. BKs last year, he gave Rees more freedom and control, and the regressed on offense. Then after BK left and Rees had full control, they dropped even more.

No one knows if. This will work out, but it is an underwhelming hire by Saban and Bama any way you spin it.

This has Major Applewhite Vol. 2 written all over it BUT there is a system in place Rees will have to adapt to, which may make a huge difference. I can't imagine Saban is choosing an incredibly inexperienced OC with questionable results to be the architect of installing a new offense built by proven greats like Kiffin, Sark, etc.

Interesting indeed. ND fans wanted his arse gone all year and there was talk of firing him. Looks like he got out before he could be scapegoated for swaggy Freeman’s ineptitude as a head coach
