I get that the players may have "given" up on the year because they know he's leaving but the nose dive is still a reflection on the coach. It will be interesting to see where Herman ends up and what kind of money he commands after this season.

Losing as heavy favorites to 3 unranked teams?
Yeah, I'll pass

Or he's spending more time negotiating his next job vs the film room

Any coach who can't get his team fired up for a game doesn't belong at LSU

LSU has had slow starts the past two games

Yeah, a bit, but UT will still take him.

His stock was never high for me. Let him win 4 or 5 years and then I will be interested. He's not ready for the big time yet.

Harsin at Boise. If we're going to consider Herman, we have to look at Harsin. 5th year hc (1 @ Ark St, 4 @ Boise), stints as oc at Boise and Texas.
39 yr old former qb with a creative, dynamic offensive mind and an excellent resume, who has recruited Texas and picked up at Boise where Peterson left off when he went to Washington.
Better choice than Herman, in my view. Definitely worth a hard look, especially when you consider he's currently only earning $1mm and could be had without having to bid against UT and others.

I don't know. Let's see how the season plays out.
turning the program over to a coach with 1.5 years at a mid major is not an option to me.

It is.
Very risky hire that gets riskier by the day.
I wouldn't want my ath dept investing $ millions in him right now.
Two words: rebound hire.
