Anyone who wants the DL coach that no other school in the country would hire shouldn't call anyone an idiot.

Right because teams have always performed their best when their season hopes went down the drain. Look at Alabama in the Sugar bowl for instance. If it happened to a Nick Saban coached team I'm sure it can happen to just about anybody.

Exactly. Let me break down the schedule he's faced so far (all of which have been played at home):

We dominated Missouri, the same team that was down 35-7 to Kentucky today at home.

We dominated Southern Miss, the same team that the week prior to making a trip to Tiger Stadium lost 59-32 to UTSA.

We dominated an Ole Miss team that to this point in the season has a 43% win percentage.

Let me break it down even further. Everyone of those games we win by 10 at the most with Les. Possibly losing to Ole Miss. We are beating teams we are supposed to beat and doing it how we're supposed to. Let the rest of the season play out, but stop using those three reasons as knocks on O.

So he can't have a bad 6 game stretch and get the LSU job
uh, no, not when youve only been a coach for a year and a half in the AAC. 6 games is like 1/4 of his games total.

Houstons recruiting the past 4 years has been better or level with the teams hes now playing, he should be winning these games easily if he wants the LSU job.

Before the skid started they were undefeated and ranked #6 in the country. Is a shot at an undefeated season, the playoffs and a possible national championship not enough motivation to play well against Navy, Tulsa and SMU?

If not frick their coach and team. THEY ALL SUCK !!!

Then whats the point of you throwing his coaching titles and rings have to do with this if those things dont count? Yall are quick to call Herman a fraud based upon a few games but hild O up on a pedestal and forget the years of his failures. Fair is fair

He is a good mid-major coach and a good OC. Nothing more

Josh Huepel and Jay Norvell put up 45 points on Saban w/ Trevor Knight as qb. Where are they now?

Huepel mizzou offense getting shut down by SEC defenses and norvell is a wr coach at Arizona state.

Herman is what Dan Mullen would be at a mid major school...

Accept Herman has taught Saban his offense in the off season. Saban has taught Hermab his defense. Herman has had success cause he has used Saban's cues to build both sides of the ball. Hernan's offense has already done damage against the SEC best - Alabama - while he was there. He's no Mullen. He puts good defensive together too

Cmon....a lot of coaches do that every off season. Saban does it every off season.

With the exception of the second half today Herman defense hasn't look sharp. In fact their were posters here hoping he didn't bring his DC if he got the LSU job.

Huepel and Novell did damage to Saban the year before Herman did it. Should they be in head positions now?

I think Mullen is a better coach...

When did they start letting the D line coach hire the OC? That's a job for the next HC.

See my response above.

Im still waiting for someone to explain to me how Herman is a fraud. I mean that's what this thread is about right? When did he become a fraud?

He's coaching to try and get a better job. I don't think he said he deserves to be at UT or LSU. In fact it seems like he is looking for the right move to make when he feels it is time considering he turned down other top programs last year.

I mean it really is as simple as this: if he loses or looks bad going forward it lowers his appeal/bargaining power. If he maintains and wins he has more room to negotiate. In either scenario someone takes him as a top level HC next year. I don't seem him staying at UH any longer. He knows his stock will peak this year at Houston.

Like him or don't like him. Argue he should or shouldn't be at LSU but just stop with all this nonsense of how he is a "fraud" or shitty coach. All that tells me is that you have some personal vendetta against the man, and can't objectively evaluate a football coach based on his entire resume.

Well I'll take Aranda at DC of any of em. Mullin does not have well coached defensive squads. I'm taking Herman over mullin cause I see him having done less with more vs Oklahoma and Florida state, and for the dominating offenses he coached at Ohio. The fact that we are comparing the two speaks volumes to what Herman has done at both schools
