Todd Monken Story

My parents got Vandy tickets in their away game "lottery".
They sent them to me, on account of me being in TN and the opponent being Vandy.
First LSU game I was able to attend in 7 years, so I was pretty damn excited. I dressed my son, 3 at that time, in a toddler #7 LSU jersey. . .and loaded up the wife, and we were off.
I told my wife I missed LSU Football so badly I wanted to watch all the pregame warm ups. Before going in we got a tiger's eye painted on my son's cheek, and bought a child's LSU visor.
We watched JR, Ali, D-Bowe and crew go through the usual workout. The team headed back to the locker room, and I was playing with my son.
My wife touched me on the shoulder and told me to look up. There stood Todd Monken. He looked at my son and said that it made the team so excited to look up and see such a small Tiger fan decked out in the stands. He then gave my son a hat with all the starters' signatures.
My son has lived in East TN most of his life, but he became a lifelong Tiger fan that day. Now 8, he remembers that moment to this day.
Monken is good people. I don't know if he would be a great OC, but he is ok in my book.
Figured I'd share.
ETA: That was also the game that Ali first showed out. . .which may have been because of my son's #7 jersey. . .not really, but fun to think about.

Good Story.
I remember the Sack/Force Fumble/Rec/TD by Ali that game very well. Never understood why we didn't let him blitz more often.
Of course, he also had the famous play in the MNC game two years later.

Man I was thinking Ali Broussard becuas ehe mentioned other offensive players.

Great story - sounds like Monken is a good guy.
I brought my son to his first LSU game (Miss St.) this year...he loved it and wears his LSU jersey to school every week. He went from not watching much football to watching every down with me this year.

My twin sons' first game was the Capital One Bowl last year. Needless to say, their experience wasn't as memorable as your son's. 
I was proud that one of them never wanted to leave and cheered the entire game. The other wanted to leave in the 1st quarter (something about being cold and wet or some crap). Little pansy.
