Damn you people are fickle. You want Crowton gone, then the only damn people with the power to make it happen allegedly step in and get it done and you bitch about it. Some of yall are just nuts!

I understand where you guys are coming from with TAF and the money and being able to have some influence. Having said that, I still do not agree with it. I see this going in the direction of Alabama with the purchase of the high school kid from his high school coach or Auburn and the Petrino fiasco and other things I would rather not think about. When you start having the non-football individuals (boosters)with nothing to lose for their actions calling the shots for the football team, you are setting yourself up for a disaster to occur.

I prayed CM made a new year's resolution to unfrick the offensive coaching this year. Please let this be true.

How do you know they have nothng to lose?
Posted on 1/7/10 at 12:57 pm to Chicken
Does their livelihood rely on the success or failure of the football team?
I highly doubt it! Except the pleasure of watching winning football. Ain't much in the grand scheme of things. Therefore, they have nothing to lose!

Just my opinion but what i think happened is that Miles wanted to give Crowton time to find another job....the higher ups stepped in and said he's had plenty of time now, he has to go....Miles said ok. I dont see anything wrong with that if Crowton was out the door anyway. Just my opinion though.

Seems to me that the closed door meeting that was held by Gump boosters to get Saban there has turned out pretty well for them. I don't have a problem with TAF involvement as long as they keep the good of the program in check and not personal preferences, meaning firing a good coach because he doesn't kiss a certain boosters arse.

Because LSU football with Joe Dean as AD and no TAF to speak of then, was just outstanding.

I have no real problem with TAF making their feelings known.
Hell, money talks.
I think--and I emphasize THINK--we're long past the days of the "good ole boys" running LSU athletics.
The days of Charlie Cusimano and his cronies trying to run things back in the eighties are long gone--I hope.

Somebody's go to do it. If the TAF can make things happen then so be it. None of us want LSU to have another 9-3 season and get owned by BAMA. So whether the TAF, athletic director, or your momma....has "the pull" to get the ball rolling for firing a bad OC and getting a better one then good job!!

i know no one knows this but are we sure this was TAF stepping in to say fire him?
does crowton have a buyout? i have no idea. maybe LSU wanted to fire him and TAF stepping in was just to say they can handle the buyout.
i have no idea, but there is a lot of speculation on here and people doing their typical knee jerk reactions and complaining.

This might not be the case. we had previous indications the Miles wanted to get rid of Crowton but it was deemed to expensive due to a buyout or something.
This could simply be the boosters supporting Miles and offering to pony up to enable Miles to do what needs to be done.
