aTm proving that you CAN buy a championship. They are tired of being belittled and the laughing stock of the SEC.

Hate to tell them, but even with a championship, everyone will still be laughing at them, and their Good Humor Men cheerleaders.

Os ceiling as a coach was somewhere around what 350k per year, until LSU came calling. Now he is head man. Potentially a head man with no assistants in about 24 hours.

That may not happen, but they certainly are buying their way to improvement. Any program with resources should be doing the same thing. LSU isn't.

Screw that, we dont need to pay any coordinator what they are making much less 4 million. Hell no. There are other great football coaches.

The funny thing is, even with Jimbo and Aranda, I don't think A&M will be beating Bama anytime soon. Probably won't even get beyond 3rd or 4th in the West in the next few years.

If they hire Aranda, they will screw us real good though. Maybe that's worth $3 mil for a DC.

Would this be a first? A coordinator paid more than the head coach?

that's what some of these LSU fans cannot understand.

the resources are there to compete, and they are finally going to use it. why not? and there's ton more at their disposal.

LSU has money as well but decides to do its christmas shopping at dollar general.

You're going to have to pay Aranda and bump up Orgeron and shorten his leash. You don't let the best defensive mind in football walk out the door over more money.

Honestly, you gotta feel kinda ashamed. I do not care if he goes there for that amount of money, but come on, will you not feel a little dirty?

There's no way he doesn't take this offer, or whichever number comes from A & M next.

The way they talk you'd think the NCAA sets a salary cap for your coaching staff.

Instead, it's a free for all. Spend as much as you can make. LSU is in a position to take prime example of this, and yet people don't want to because "coaches shouldn't make that much"...whatever that means.

If Bama wins another championship, a HC will make $10 million in 2018.

Alleva can either do that or lose the most crucial element to the entire LSU football program. Think about how much weight Aranda has pulled this year alone with that putrid offense. LSU won't win a single SEC game next year if Aranda leaves, so O will be fricking gone then. It's pretty simple: fire 0 now and keep Aranda or let Aranda walk and fire 0 after next season's inevitable disaster.

I heard from a connect Aggie booster who has been 100% correct on everything for years, tells me the offer is $2.1 m with incentives.

When it is dumb to pay that much, yes, you do. If you overpay for the best, you set the standard to overpay for the next. No different than paying O 4 million, he isnt worth it, but it is what the position pays at a minimum. No one needs to pay a coordinator 4 million. Period. I dont care who all does it, it is wrong.

At 3mm per, I can't see Aranda staying nor do I think LSU should match that. We can find someone just as competent even though it will be a huge blow. What will be hilarious is A&M still not winning championships with a payroll north of 12mm.
