Do any of you think Pinkel would leave Mizz. and would he be a good fit? He was turned them around but it is a very weak conf.

Do we really want a coach that wears a shirt that says this?

That's what I'm thinking if he's been there a while...this is the first time they've been good.

Read a great article in an issue of SI a few weeks back. Said he was basically a complete a-hole for several years, got no results, then decided to be more laid back (at the same time having a great QB) and now has a good season.

Once an a-hole, always an a-hole.

Pinkel took over a 3-8 team in 2001 and has done the following:

2001: 4-7
2002: 5-7
2003: 8-5
2004: 5-6
2005: 7-5
2006: 8-5
2007: 11-1

He was also the HC at Toledo from 1991-2000 and went 5-5-1, 8-3, 4-7, 6-4, 11-0-1, 7-4, 9-3, 7-5, 6-5, 10-1.

He was on one of the national radio shows today. Rome I think. One of his players died a year or two ago (at a voluntary workout IIRC). He said things changed a lot after that and although he still stuck to his process he was "a lot more open" with his players.

Take it for what its worth.

Used to live in a Toledo when Pinkel was coaching there...I think Pinkel is a great coach but like Miles he has his own dream job in Wahington. And the SI article was right, with all his sucsess at Toledo the local media was glad he left b/c of his attitude.
