then go to another option at HC
one that didn't get passed over for Syracuse very recently

Devoid of clear cut upgrades, continuity with no more handcuffs is a pretty logical choice.
only if you want to maintain us as a 3-4 loss team and are too scared to try to win again

We needed the homerun hire to galvanize a broken fanbase. This is going to create bigger division.
This hire will do that with the majority of the fan base. I disagree with it but I think the majority of fans are excited about this. Sorry but TD does not represent what the majority of the fans feel.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I can't tell you how many times I had to hope I was wrong about Raider coaches.
I hope I am wrong about O, but I don't see him winning a championship.
BTW - I felt great about Cable and JDR in the post Gruden era.

No they want to win and look at this search for what it was.
Lazy and incompetent. I wonder how many of you run your own businesses this way.
It honestly scares me.

Only thing I'd ask: how many years?
If it was a $30M deal... you make it. $42M? Eh... that I can see, because it could cripple LSU if he fails in a big way.

It's embarrassing what has happened to lsu's special teams after being really strong in it for 13+ years before he took that position.
Keeping him because he has a few contacts in Texas is just a joke.
i just can't believe they're going to retain BDP
is he like that one friend who makes sure to take pics when people are drunk and stupid to save for leverage or something?

Who would excite you?
Fedora? No! Gundy? Hell no! Holgerson? He's garbage. Fleck? Unproven! Fuentes? Maybe. Macintyre? Maybe. However, neither Fuentes or Macintyre are "home runs" in the eyes of CFB.

that does nothing more than prove how stupid most Louisiana residents are

According to the same people who said Herman had already accepted LSU's offer to manipulate the media? Lol, sure. Herman to Texas has been the worst kept secret in CFB. He was never, ever, seriously considering anywhere else.
The rest of your post is just the same old tired hurrr durr ole miss. If you think blowing the whole thing up to hire a guy like fleck gets you closer to being an elite program than continuity with some pretty elite staff members then you're not as smart as you try to make yourself look on the internet.

what do you expect O to do to improve LSU from a 3-4 loss program?
we've had elite staffs for years under a better coach and look where we got
i mean hell, larry fedora and dana holgerson, while not stunning options, have proven a lot more than O ever has

A couple dozen guys on the coaching changes board who had convinced themselves LSU was going to just pluck the next Saban out of thin air does not equal half a fanbase.
The most ignorant repeated statement for years on these forums is that "TR/TD does not represent the LSU fanbase."
It very much does. The people who pay the money--small, medium, and big money post here. The passionate fans post here. The generational fans post here. The season-ticket holders post here. The alumni post here.
These boards are a hugely representative and significant microcosm of the LSU fan base.
Wrestle with that all you want to.

Ironic considering you trolled the fan base for years & the fact you have 57/3 U:D ratio
Makes me think they made the right decision

He will take the handcuffs off of the offensive talent, and potentially improve that talent level at certain positions. No more duel threats under center and only seriously pursuing a few lack luster QBs in general. No more recruiting nothing but guards along the line and then putting the oldest one at tackle cause all you really want to do is run block.
Les's downfall was always thinking he was the smartest guy in the room, Orgeron's best quality might be that he knows he's not. We're going to get to see what it's like for a top flight OC to run an offense at LSU for the first time in a decade.
And let's face it, if this experiment fails you take his two top 5 classes and hand them to the next coach.

you are severely underestimating the arrogance of the mercenary Orgeron

The head coach absolutely needs to be the smartest guy in the room.

This is the first intelligent comment I've ever seen from you in a coaching thread. Have an Upvote.

It just doesn't feel like a "change" from the Miles era. The ending is so similar to the way the so-called search ended last season.
Posted on 11/26/16 at 10:06 am to SlowFlowPro
Oregeron is a fricking shill con man who bamboozled the FB LSU fans. The FB LSU fans would go tailgate and post #readyforthegame pictures if we went 0-12 in the Sun Belt every year. ULL has tons of supportive fans who don't go if they're good or not. Is that who we want to be? Well my auntie and grandmother on Facebook love COACH O so clearly he was a good hire. Jesus
