At the time, moderate success at OSU was incredibly successful

And looking back in hindsight, the miles era was incredibly fun and successful, it’s time to give the man his due.

O showed how quickly things can unravel here so acting like Miles was this idiot on cruise control is false. Many coaches would kill to have his career, he just went up against the GOAT. He’s Manning, Saban was Brady. Both had HOF careers, one’s accolades just dwarf the other’s.

Miles ALWAYS had his teams ready to play. Now, were they ready to play with the right game plan? Not always. But you didn’t see very many of the uninspired, dogshit performances we’ve seen since 2020.

Are you serious with this shite? Spurrier hated LSU because he didn’t get the job in like 1990 and never would have come.

1987. Arnsparger hand picked Mike Archer to succeed him when it was rumored Spurrier really wanted the job. Then in 1990, Arnsparger as athletic director at Florida hired Spurrier, who then monkey-stomped our asses on a yearly basis. Would have LOVED to see Spurrier with that ‘87 team having Tommy Hodson and that offense.

People forget that Miles was like the 6th or 7th pick down the line.

I’ll never quite get over the fact that we let the athletic director at UF pick our next head coach.

Just from the offensive perspective alone, I don't think anyone is getting Lane Kiffin confused with Les Miles.

Les had some good years here- but offensive innovation was his Achilles heel.

Skip had Jimbo in the building who likely would’ve kept it running much better than Miles. Skip whiffed.

Ironically Skip thought elevating Smoke from the building was the correct move when any coach in America would’ve come if they could keep some of the camp money.

Skip is a HOF coach, but reverted to the mean or worse as an LSU admin.

Dorsey was a freak in '06. Sure those 2 were a force but '06 Dorsey was fun to watch. He didn't have the sacks that he did in '07 but I think his '06 season was better than '07.

Those were arguably the biggest losses. The line took some time to gel. But still the '06 team was better. Especially at the end of the season. Miles made a mistake by not playing Keiland and Charles Scott sooner. They both fumbled in practice early on and he wanted to lean on Hester and Vincent.

I also would have liked to see the '05 team without the hurricane as well but even so with the improvement that the stars made from '05 to '06 makes the '06 season a disappointment they didn't make the SEC Championship in a rematch with Florida to go to the Title Game.

He had moderate success at best when he was hired from OSU.

There were so so many coaches who would have been an upgrade, but they went Miles. Kinda crazy.

Wasn't he Coach of the Year?

The Les Miles Era was fun, yes it had plenty to complain about but it always felt fun
