That isnt the feel I am getting on various sites.
Probably wrong, but they may just of opened the Michigan "bank" and gone after a big hire. Only time will tell. Didnt really read anything last night. Gonna crash here in a few.

The longer Carr is allowed to hang around that school the farther into mediocrity it will fall.
Cab you imagine the uproar if Miles would have went there and beat Ohio St the first year? People would have been blasting Carr.

There is no direct connection between Meyer and Mich. What is known is this:
Urban is from Cinci; was asst. at both OSU and ND
Has coached in the UM-OSU game
Grew up "idolizing" Bo Schembechler (his words not mine)
Has consistently expressed that Mich is one of the premier programs in his eyes (his words not mine)
Was head coach at Bowling Green, OH
Lloyd has said, recently, that Mike Debord and Urban became friends on the recruiting trail while Urban was at ND, and Lloyd says he thinks highly of UM, that he does things the right way (always to be interpreted -- the Michgan Way).
What is suspected:
Urban Meyer has twice contacted Mich about joining the program, once when he was leaving to go the Utah, and once before leaving Utah and going to FLA. The first was said to be to join as a coordinator. The second was to be Asst. Head coach, OC and heir apparent to Lloyd. No timetable to get the job, just be in-line when Lloyd decided to go (kind of what Jimbo Fisher has done at FSU)
Meyer and Mich continue to say good things about each other whenever they are asked. It almost borders on "flirtation."

I can see it, I really can because of the same reasons that Miles to Michigan made sense other than the Miles connection to michigan as a former player.
What I mean is, a truly great team can struggle to 11-2 in the SEC and need some luck and a LOT of help to get to the Big Show where a really good team in the Big Ten can be 11-1 and cruise in. Add in Meyer's recruiting connections in the South now and the obvious National name Michigan has and it makes sense to me. Florida a great job, but it isnt a dream job for Urban Meyer and if he can do for UM what he did for Florida (NC), he would go down as one of the all time greatest CFB coaches ever.
I read on some of those blogs that Meyer doesnt have a good relationship with UF AD Jeremy Foley, so if that is true it doesnt help Florida's cause any.

Would Urban Meyer's style of play really with the Michigan crowd? When you think of Michigan you don't really think of the same speed and the type of dynamic offense that Urban has brought to the programs he has been associated with. I don't know, just a thought.

he ran the same offense at Bowling Green and at Utah and had a lot of success doing it.
One of the complaints of UM fans is how their schemes are stuck in the past so I think he would be a breath of fresh air. Plus he has a NC that he won destroying tOSU and humiliating the vest in the process.

I really do feel for Les. His dream has been shattered because Lloyd is a piece of shite. Oh well, he can stay at LSU and win titles and put up records none of our coaches ever has.
I feel bad for Les too. Carr obviously had it in for him and that's pathetic that the AD would allow him to have so much control on who got to suceed him. Oh well, Les will be holding up the crystal ball in a few weeks so I'm sure he'll be ok.
And agree with the comment that its for the best that he didn't go as he'd have to be looking over his shoulder the whole time, wondering if Carr & his cronies were doing anything to make things difficult.

Urban aint going anywhere. Florida will be preseason No. 1 next year, and he's sitting on a ton of young talent.
Urban is already one of the highest paid coaches, and MI wouldnt be able to hold up in a bidding war with FL.
And the Miles deal with LSU was completed Fri night, so Herbie's "scoop" did nothing but piss Miles off.

Most Michigan people agree that we need to move forward and get with the modern coaching program. Urban Meyer would be a good fit but I don't think that will happen either.

Don't be deceived by what is the style of play at Mich, and what will "play" with Mich, its fans and potential recruits.
Not that you would have followed the fan saga of posting around Mich's offense, but Lloyd and Mike Debord are not beloved for the style they play. Ron English, with limited talent finally unleashed the D last year and got much better results letting his athletes be athletes. With some better guys and a better conditioning program (John Belein the b-ball coach has told the Mich S&C guy to stay away from his guys, he will handle their conditioning) feelings are we can join mainstream BCS football on that side of the ball. But Debord and Lloyd are both very conservative and the offense is a pure reflection of that. People are dying to get past that and to something fast and dynamic like what Meyer did at Bowling Green (which we saw regularly here on TV in the Midwest, and at Utah, which we saw first hand when it came to Mich Stadium and almost beat us).

This may be germans, but did anyone see the blind item in Guilbeau's notebook section.
Gainsville is east of Tuscaloosa - Florida AD worried about Meyer?

This reminds me of Ole Miss after Johnny Vaught. The politics took over and it was more about control of the team, not winning. and it destroyed them.

Auburn- TT. At least that is what I got from Gilbeaus comment about AU getting to keep their coach because LSU kept theirs.
