The Texas search is so odd. Any chance they make another late run at Saban?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he bailed overnight and left Bama hanging after a loss like he did to LSU (I know he had already announced before the cap one bowl).

AJ is gone. Bama is losing a number players to the draft. The guy isn't loyal to anyone. Not blaming him at all for that. I'd do it for the money but I'm not him.

Not trying to flame and/or troll. Just a thought that came to mind as the game ended last night.

read today that powers wants franklin. mccombs wants gruden but both are being over ruleed. really between strong, fisher, briles and a wildcard. they are going to make fisher say no. briles wants the job without having to interview and if all else fails they will circle back around and make mora say no.

franklin

would be a good hire, IMHO

Really don't see him going. He's got such a great gig now.

strong

This would be a depressing hire, I think.

fisher

He just signed an extension and doesn't seem like the type to bail after doing so but that's just me.

Could be a good hire but I don't see him getting the job.

Didn't he come out today and say he is staying at UCLA?

It will be Strong, and I don't see why that would be a "depressing" hire.

I really think the Saban think isn't dead yet.

I just think the whole thing is so odd. It was a build up to "when will Mack be fired or let go?" then he is out and names immediately begin to drop, with Saban being at the forefront. Then, after a few days it literally died. The whole thing. Everything vanished. Just odd. Either they are in talks with who they are going to hire or they dropped the ball. I cant figure it out.

I guess I say this because he's currently at Louisville. I've just never given that school enough credit, I guess. I know he was at Florida and I know Petrino proved he was a good coach after leaving Louisville.

It's just MHO

Yes. I think it is a done deal. Saban needs to figure out a way to make a graceful exit. If I were him, I would leave too. He is a program builder who has maxed out Alabama.

They probably want a coach that can beat Stoops. Wouldn't that put Saban out of the running?

I think Strong is waiting out Bam-Bam getting fired at UF and stays at Louisville.

I can see Franklin going to Miami
I can see Vandy hiring some hot, young (and cheap) Asst Coach

I think Texas waits on Jimbo, gets him after monday or fall back to Briles

I dont think Saban is going anywhere

I have a strong feeling that the powers that be at Texas know who their next coach will be. Just working out the details.

Yes I am. He excites me way more than Stoops or McDaniels.

could be dependent on how many death threats Saban gets this week.
