keep in mind its completely possible no info about Riley was from lsu.
I think Riley had probably made a decision on leaving OU weeks ago. I would be interested in knowing whether his camp was leaking the "LSU is interested" rumors or if that came from some loudmouth associated with TAF who wanted to feel important.

Riley’s agent reached out in October to numerous schools. LSU being one of them.
He wasn’t happy at Oklahoma or at going to the SEC. So this USC deal was probably reached as soon as Franklin did an extension. I am sure we were used as leverage buy apparently he was leaving Ok to avoid playing in SEC so we were never really contenders
