That's a whole lot of words. In short, yes, Woody and Jimbo have a long professional relationship. Are they friends? Who knows. At a minimum they have great respect for one another.
Did Woody pursue Jimbo over the summer? Yep. He declined and got a raise and extention.
Has Woody contacted Jimbo since then? I suspect he made another run at Jimbo. If so, Jimbo declined again.
All of Jimbo's extensive actions in the areas around CS, lead me to conlude he isn't leaving. Not to mention his wife's Courtney's statements.
There are further actions that the Ags have embraced that endear Jimbo to Aggieland.

He's pretty much like every other coach not named Saban. Needs a near generational qb along with a little bit more lightning in the bottle. Which don't get me wrong, not just any ole coach can come out on top even with those things. I don't mean to take away from his pedigree.

That’s why he was told not to come back without Saban. They didn’t think they had a viable third option
You just never know if you don’t make a guy say no, especially if you don’t give that coach a choice but to say yes. I think Woodward can pull Riley. It’ll be up to LSU just how bad they want him.

I don't know if LSU gets Jimbo, I think any of the "top 4-5" coaches mentioned will compete for championships. but if it was so clear cut that he didn't want the LSU job or he wasn't considering it at all, why wouldn't Jimbo just say "I am not interested in the LSU job, I will not be their coach".
