Jimbo was not SW’s pick. He was given a directive to go get jimbo and don’t come back without him. Just like bama did Mal Moore when they hired Saban. This is SW’s chance to put his imprint on the program and he won’t recycling a coach that he was previously told to hire. That’s why jimbo’s contract was so large and long.

That’s why he was told not to come back without Saban. They didn’t think they had a viable third option

Dude, Get a clue.
quote:

The biggest hire of the offseason has its roots near the back row of meeting room at LSU.

quote:

Jimbo used to let me sit in his offensive meetings," Woodward said. "I was interested. I was curious. I'd come at the end of the day. I knew all those: Mike Haywood, Derek Dooley and Stan Hixon. I'd go in there and watch him do it. Jimbo was very open and loved having us in there.

And here is where you are proven to be a liar.
quote:

Hey, do you really want me to get a big-time coach?" Woodward asked his superiors in the Texas A&M administration. "That's a rare world up there, guys that win national championships and do things Jimbo has done. It is by chance [that] he and I had a relationship.

You're always nervous until [a new coach] gets on the plane," Woodward said. "We knew each other so well. It's like, 'We're not going to screw each other around.'

He told them he could get Jimbo. They didn't say go get him. And the same thing proved true then, as it does now.
quote:

Woodward and Fisher have essentially staked at least part of their legacies on it.

Does this sound familiar?
quote:

The deal was finalized the week of conference championship games. The school had already decided to pay Kevin Sumlin his $10 million buyout.

It’s Napier. I thought it was Jimbo two weeks ago. Longer this goes I am convinced it’s Napier.

I see you’re still throwing around the communist word. Calling out others about their IQ?

Here’s a fact you might like.

When Scotty was at Udub, Jimbo flew up from SF just to have lunch with him. He was out on a recruiting visit in Antioch, CA and hopped on a quick flight to Seattle for a few hours.

Jimbo and Scotty do have a friendship. It’s of no consequence whether you believe it or not. How do I know this fact? I was on that same private plane that was chartered from S San Fran to SeaTac.

Being an LSU alumnus, I of course couldn’t resist talking with him. Additionally, I used to run in to Scotty quite often at the QFC (grocery store) on Mercer Island, WA. Needless to say, I used to talk with him casually as well. I am not his friend, just merely a person that can confirm they are indeed friends.

"Durrr give me a source, as long as it doesn't prove me wrong."

You may want to slow down on insulting the intelligence of others.

it's not because he has nothing to gain by coming to LSU?

he would have to clean up LSU then get them to where the ags are now. if haynes king stays healthy, that team is prolly undefeated and wins the west this year.

Were you expecting a new coach to be announced mid season?

Did you expect Jimbo to leave A&M while still in the mix for an SEC West Title?

Not sure what you expected to happen by now...
