The optics of the LSU search look bad

Do they? I think we should see who the next coach is first.

Just because idiots and lazy journalists run with any rumor they hear doesn’t necessarily reflect on LSU.

Per the FL AD, Napier is the only coach they interviewed.

"I am the search." - Florida AD Stricklin, probably

Only interviewing a single candidate is a risky play for high level positions.

This whole search we haven't heard anything legit but when it got hot with Riley we suddenly got articles from legit journalists about stoops. It's called a smoke screen! look at this board as an example. Any story and everyone runs with it.

The perceived optics are all based on rumors and innuendo. Woodward hasn't said or implied shite, and he's not some amateur trying to learn on the job. Be patient.

LSU fans need to realize that these coaches are not just looking at living in BR and dealing with LSU fans, but also the conference and competition.

O is 2 years removed from a national title and you fired him.

I think the opinion of most people here is that even on its worst day LSU should be 9-3 or 10-2. If Ed O had done that these past few years people would be upset but he'd be good. But he didn't do that. 5-5 and 6-6 is not good enough.

Some sort of public statement from Woodward would go a long way towards claim g folks down.

Our previous AD used to make public statements about the football search. He got pissed that he was outplayed for Herman and hired the worst coach in ole miss history. Woodward needs to keep his mouth shut and do his job. The fans and recruiting will work itself out after the hire.

I totally agree that Ed O needed to go and the sooner the better. He would have destroyed the program if he wasn’t fired.

What concerns me is that LSU always finds a way to be the laughing stock to everybody else. We can’t handle success. Never have.

That's the beauty and ridiculousness of LSU my friend, we find a way to be the laughing stock but we also always find a way to win. We've been there and we will be there again

One recruiting class isnt a big deal. The right coach is.

I agree 100% , my point was based on the fact this particular recruit had been committed and stayed committed even when O got fired. So decommitting now means something different. At then end of the day, the right coach at LSU will get what he needs

I'm not really disagreeing with that, but you fired a NC coach only 2 years from winning it. That will give coaches pause, that's all I'm saying.

Not to mention that it's hard to win in the SEC. Not a conference for the weak, and Riley was weak.

But you are disregarding everything that went along with it. O's women, his dumbass statements, having a terrible offense with Louisiana players, current players opting out. And more.

To be fair, I get your point. But what you are describing is the culture of an elite SEC program. It's no different at Alabama, they just have their shite together.

LSU should have jumped on Napier right away.

A HUGE MISTAKE.

He will make Florida a pwerhouse.

I don’t think timing matters as long as it’s the right coach that can lead this program, lead the coaches and young men he is responsible for, and represents the university in a positive manner.

Time will tell.

I agree that it's chaotic in the moment but if they get the right guy, no one will care about this in 3 weeks. But you have to be on top of it at all times. Fans are watching and recruits are watching
