Care to elaborate? I am under the impression that Mangus has never had the opportunity to be more than an analyst. Am I missing something?

Really bad at W&M apparently.

Mangus called W&M and was poor.

Calloway was awesome at calling an offense.

Peetz has never done it.

Peetz is the one being interviewed for OC. He doesn't know Callaway. So, you're saying O and E are forcing Callaway on the new OC, whoever he may be, bc he had a cutesy offense at D3 before taking an analyst role. Should go swimmingly.

Samford is FCS man. Same level as Mangus at W&M, just with actual success.

For all we know, Mangus could be getting a courtesy interview for PGC to help his resume. They already interviewed Munoz, another analyst from last year who moved on, and there’s no way he was getting that job.

So the next OC will be someone with no play calling experience?

He was going to be the Colts OC before McDaniels backed out of the HC job. So they had no problem hiring him with no experience and you dont think he good enough for LSU?

McDaniels would ultimately have been the mind behind that offense though.

I’m not saying the other poster is correct but claiming that because he was going to be brought in by a guy who would essentially act as his own OC, is not a strong argument.

Does everyone 40 and under take "meds" now to help them function. The dilated pupils look is a tell tale sign of antidepressants...

That would make him an incredibly strong resume for a college OC regardless of if McDaniels was calling plays or not. You wouldn't take the Saints OC for a college OC position?

How many times have Saban's DC's become college head coaches?

That's about a 15-year-old picture.

Seems like a bizarre hire, but these things sometimes work out.

If Josh McDaniels was about to hire him as a pro OC when he was planning to take the Colts job, it’s not a bizarre hire to make him a college OC.

McDaniels was gonna be the play caller.

Just like Sean Payton, Andy Reid, Matt LaFleur, Doug Pederson, Kyle Shanahan, etc

And again, the OC for basically every one of those teams would be an extremely strong hire for LSU OC? Some are talked about for NFL head coaching vacancies.

Peetz - OC
Calloway - PGC (really co-OC in responsibility)
Mangus - Position coach?

Ok. Curious which one will teach the running backs and receivers how to actually catch the ball consistently?
