Woodward ran the play that was called. Boosters wanted him to target Riley, he did. This isn't his fault.

Well that has been the history. Every time LSU fans say the AD botched the hire, the hired coach ends up winning one of those pesky national championships.

Oh I don’t know but it sure seems like LSU has been tied to a ton of coaches who have opted to get raises. If half of those coaches were in fact spoken to by Woodward in the last two months then he isn’t the great “Big Game Hunter” he has been represented to be.

LSU has had plenty of time to get their ducks in a row but all we see is one coach after another getting a new contract or saying they are not coming.

Totes. I've been saying this for a week now. He hitched his wagon to coaches that were NEVER going to leave the destination jobs they were already in. Now, the coaches that were legitimate options have already either resigned to new deals at their current schools or are being signed to our annual fricking opponent from the east.
He fricked this up dearly. The idea that LSU could just cherry pick any coach in the country they wanted was never realistic. We're just another one of 20 destination jobs out there.

No one was going to be hired before the regular season ended. Several of us have been saying that for weeks. We have 17 days until early signing day. We hired Jay Johnson with only a few days to spare before a college/pro deadline, and that worked out. It is still very possible that LSU/Woodward could have their “ducks in a row”. If Shea says no one knows what Woodward has up his sleeves, including higher ups, then that’s as believable of a source as you can believe. I still think it’s way too early to melt. If we get to ESD with no hire, AND we are losing 5* recruits, then I’ll understand the melt.

Media will be media but no of it adds up to they are scrambling now there is a lot of odd things in this I think they have a guy and have had a guy and we will know soon enough
