EJ had a party last week with LSU and FMOL leadership. Second-hand info from mid-tier leadership attendees was that the consensus amongst multiple "important" guests was that they were confident in Saban agreeing to the AD role.
First hand info this morning from different FMOL leadership was that they're confident Saban will be HC with control over hiring next coach and AD role (if he wants it).
Nobody committed to it being a done deal or a timeline, just that they feel it'll get done.
Take it for what it's worth... which is essentially that the vibe within FMOL for the past week is that the Saban smoke is real, and it seems to be getting stronger.

Thank you. That is very juicy

This lines up with what everyone else has been hearing too. You think who you heard it from would know what they are talking about?

Sounds like our rich donors are refusing to let Saban go. I like it

Of course they are "going after him". That's literally the extent of the plan of the bozos driving this clown car. The problem is if/when Saban says "no thanks", there is no plan B. In just the last two days you have a President personally appointed by the Governor stating he doesn't know if the "permanent" AD, who was appointed to that position after ZERO review of other candidates, was actually the permanent AD.
There's no leadership or plan. It's just a string of snap, reactionary decisions made by a quorum of people in positions of power, with little to no forethought other than they'll figure out the next steps later. Saban is the beginning and end of the "list". MAYBE Kiffin is on the list as well. After that it's more of "we'll figure it out later" with little to no clear direction of how that will be accomplished.
Because there is no leadership or plan all a reporter has to do is stick a microphone in someone's face and they are likely to make a dumb or contradictory statement relative to what someone else involved might say.

From the conversation I overheard the offer is real, there is some form of interest because he has not declined and alot of people are gathering up money. I still have a hard time thinking he comes out of retirement at this point in his career but it seems LSU and the donors are really pushing it. Who knows stranger things have happened before but again I'd have to see it with my own eyes to believe it happens but apparently there is smoke.

Just so weird with Kirk coming out “Saban is not leaving video!” and Shaq mentioning it.
Way too many legs with this rumor

I do have to admire the CIA-inspired disinformation game LSU is currently running to keep everyone- media and fan base(s) included- confused and speculating. It is brilliant!
That's what this is, right??

Really don’t think he will come but if there is any fire and desire left to coach it will be now and this job since Bama obviously isn’t open. It’s now or never for him. I think he considers it but ultimately stays retired

I can't figure out if this is an echo chamber effect or if there is smoke. I did say if you got the Bama guy....
I don't think Brooks being there is negligible.

Us too. If nothing else, it’s entertaining during a tough season

I would think Shaq knows more about LSU’s business than Kirk …. Just saying . I heard also that Saban was the guy they going after . He may say no or already said no , but he is the guy they want …..

Coaching searches are fascinating. Knowing Woodward at his time at A&M. He leaked false stuff to find his moles. Searches were dead silent.
Not sure your new AD didn't learn something from him.
I don't think anybody really knows anything.
