once in saban's first year, and it went down to the last couple minutes of the game.
and then by 3 points in OT in 2011..

Since we're giving/taking credit for that, can we credit Miles for missing it in 2013 by less than a minute?

I have been a blind supporter if les miles since day 1. This year broke my love for him.

LSU will not win another west championship or beat Alabama while saban is coaching at Alabama and miles is coaching at lsu. 1/9/12 broke lsu and les miles.

the only way lsu wins another national championship will both those coaches are employed at their current schools is if the playoffs are expanded and someone else takes care of Alabama for les.

If Miles stays he has roughly 5-7 years on his contract I believe...I think if he gets a championship in that time he retires and goes for the AD position. What say you?

I believe he will stay.

I believe he will stay another 3-8 years, closer to the 8 years.

I do not believe he will win another championship.

I do not believe he will retire and become AD.

I think the stars could align and we get another championship. I'm honestly more interested in LSU having a very long run as an elite powerhouse. Most teams these days might get a decade. Les could make it a couple decades with the right assistants. I also think he runs one of the most quality programs in the nation. By no means do I think we are angels but I don't want to be a dirty program like Miami.

but i would put money on LSU winning the West in the next 3 years

I got a kite flyer that says LSU won't win the West with their "current" QB's on the roster.

well the downvotes can keep coming. I just don't think Les is going to win the west until saban leaves. Bama is shooting for 5 in a row at tuscaloosa next year. People can deny it all they want to, but the trends aren't reassuring.

If anything, the trend is showing that Bama's dominance is tapering off. The SEC West was insanely stout this year, and for a while, Bama wasn't a clear favorite. They escaped losing to LSU again in the closing minutes of the game.

Then again, I genuinely believe that some of our fans wake up in the morning and thank Nick Saban for allowing them to wake up for another day. They're more in love with Saban and Bama than they are LSU.

What worries me about the next couple of years is Les' recent statement that we were not looking at Juco QBs because he was happy with our QB development. That statement is just hard to understand.

first time i've posted anything like that was today. I've felt that way since the 2013 alabama game in the second half when mett kept getting sacked.

Do you consider LSU's performance this year a part of that "run"?

Holy shite! LSU is still winning 75% of its games. Don't act like we are dying on the vine because we go 4-4 in the conference.

I guess in 2004 you thought we were treading in the wrong direction when we only won 9 games after winning 13 the yeas before.

We have some crazy fans. If they are fans.

I'm not foolish enough to think we can run that high every year. Mind you I grew up on UNLV basketball and love a team that will probably never equal it's pinnacle. LSU fans need to get with reality.

Your numbers are incorrect. The real numbers, according to the SEC:

SEC West Titles Since 2005

Alabama - 5
Auburn - 3
LSU - 3
Arkansas - 1

SEC West Titles Since 2007

Alabama - 5
Auburn - 2
LSU - 2

LSU - Western Division Titles

During Miles' 10-year tenure - 3

During the previous decade - 5

And you need a clue, especially if you think the last three years have been acceptable.
