“There’s no proof that Lincoln was ever contacted- no confirmed sources, etc…”—-an offer was never officially made and Scott has his answer and we should trust him. This is all smoke-
To “we f’d up the whole search” - put all our eggs on Lincoln , missed at Napier, and now we’re scrambling

Try to convince me we landed one of our top 3 if we hire Kelly, Stoops, BoB, or even Campbell or Kiffin. Campbell is arguably the best of that bunch... does that check out with no contact between LSU & Napier/Aranda?
I can’t believe this is where we landed, but it is pretty apparent LSU got played.

Anyone who isn't an emotional little bish can look at the whole thing and see the evidence that Riley was never on a legitimate list of candidates for the job. His name was never mentioned by anyone other than the forums until right before Bedlam and the message was always that he wasn't going to be the coach at LSU. Couple that with the sportsbooks never having him as one of the coaches with betting odds suggests that the people that get paid to have sources and break the news or create the odds never thought he was a serious contender for the job.
The problem with our fanbase is that we are impatient and pessimistic. We are the jilted lover in every scenario whether it be recruiting or coach searches. Once, I just wish our people would chill the hell out and wait for the announcement before jumping to the conclusion that everything is completely disastrous and every leader at LSU sucks at their job and does nothing right.

Entirely possible that we are waiting for championship games to play out. Not saying the conversations didn’t happen with Lincoln , but a strategy could be to have more than one “big whale” . Lincoln was not the only whale and we did not fail (yet)
