I'm on board. I just hope Petrino ends up far away from Louisville or the SEC when all is said and done or a lot of fans won't give Mac a fair shot.

He wasn't my #1 (Dykes) but it would be a damn good hire IMO. The guy continually does more with less and that's how Brooks built what he built at UK. I would be happy with this hire for sure.

Nah, I just think that the tweet was assuming timing. Here is my issue with Mac, I just don't think it is an exciting hire that will capture a fanbase that is out of sorts. He may be a hell of a coach, but I just can't see our fanbase go crazy for this guy.

Our problem at this point is who is going to be exciting for this fanbase outside of Petrino (which some of our tard fans have gone full short bus over)? Who can we realistically get that's going to get anybody fired up?

Old man was Vandy's coach in 80's...was a QB coach under Parcell. More I read about the dude, the more I am think he is going to be solid at UK.

San Jose State is ranked in the mid 20's in offense and mid 30's in defensive stats nationally. Balance, which UK needs badly!

Plus, winning cures everything. If he can start winning at a Brooks rate (and it's plausible with what we have on our roster) then our fans aren't going to GAF that it's not Petrino.

It might take Saban to get the fanbase excited at this point.
If whomever they hire comes in and has some modest success next year, the fans will get on board fairly quickly. The bigger issue for the fans is "is UK serious about football". If they hire an up and coming coach, and make the financial investment Barnhart has said he is trying to pull together, the fans will be back.
