Of course that sounds ridiculous. I'm saying that I WANT CEO to be the guy. Not that I'm predicting it.

But that's the point. Why do you want a guy that no one else is even interested in. 120 ncaa teams, none have come after coach O.

Rice, temple, fiu, Idaho....nobody. But you think he would be the best coach for LSU.

He's a kid. A dumb one, but still a kid.

He's not old enough to remember the Orgeron Ole Miss teams.

I'm 24. I don't think that really qualifies me as a kid but it might to some of you seasoned fellas.

Herman is a great coach. Small sample size, but according to everything we've seen from him at Ohio state and Houston, he's the next big up and coming coach. I GET THAT. I promise you.

I just want to be able to see Coach O get his dream job and dominate at LSU. I think everybody is hanging onto the Ole Miss record too much. He could be a completely different coach now. He always talks about how his coaching has evolved.

I just love the guy and want to see him succeed at LSU SO frickING BAD. It's not like I'll be mad if he isn't retained as HC. If Herman gets the job I'll be thrilled.

Let's everybody relax and just have a discussion without throwing insults.

All of this. I love the fire O brings to the team etc., but this coaching search had better be well thought out. Screw this up and it's going to hurt for a while.

This guy must be a Tide fan who wants to create controversies by promoting O. Tide fans are scared to see Herman or Fisher or a tier 1 coach at LSU.

Just wondering why O has to beat the best?

he has to beat the best because of his past record as a HC. he just has a steeper hill to climb b/c of his 3-21 record @ OM. I'm not writing him off like some are - i think that's just as short sighted and reactionary as wanting to hire him after one game. His only chance at getting the job is to win and win bigly. 7-1 finish and beat Bama by 10+ points.

no one wants this job more than O. to me that counts for a lot. he has to win though.

I've always wondered if CEO would have enough humility to stay on board and be our recruiting coordinator and d line coach IF he isn't retained as head coach... i think he's a great guy for the staff and would hate losing him in any form or fashion.. you can tell the guy loves LSU and is proud to be a tiger

Mike Archer was the same way. Players loved him and they kept him on, he was able to win for a while with the players he inherited but couldnt sustain it, I worry about Coach O being able to maintain things once the emotional high wears off.

If he wasn't from Louisiana would you still want him as a HC? Stop getting emotional over this shite, that's what kept Les here longer than he should have been.

O could win the national title and it would still be a poor decision to keep him as head coach.. what he does now he is good at, filling in, keeping stability... He is a motivator, recruiter, keep him as such... but he is not the full time guy for the program.. great guy, love him to death but he has been passed over for head jobs many of times for a reason...
