If nothing else, drive up Herman's tag so Texas is less willing to spend big money to lure Aranda. What was the fricking rush. Orgeron was being considered for zero jobs. Even if you've made up your mind you're going to sink the ship with Orgeron, at least make Texas spend some fricking money to get Herman.

Herman had no intention of coming here. It's obvious Herman had a back door deal already in place with Texas. LSU was a smoke screen. How else do you go from dealing with LSU to being hired by UT in 12 Hours?

Difference is Texas coaching staff was a shite show we have some very good assistant coaches here that I want to keep

That's fine, but make Texas pay. If LSU offers him 7mil Texas would have to match.

What does that have to do with any of this? By allowing Texas to name their price for Herman you just gave them a chance to throw a ton of money at Aranda.

Why not hire a current head coach that has proven he can win more than 4 games in one season? Mason at Vandy would be an improvement.
