Wendell is 52 years old.
It is funny, but the reality is the last pro-bowl WR he coached was 2015 Allen Robinson with the Jags and getting a WR to the pro-bowl with Bortles as your QB is no small task.
He left the Jags in 2016 to consult for LSU in 2017 so it's not like he's been at home watching The Golden Girls. He also coached David Boston and Anquan Bolden when he was with Arizona and they went to pro-bowls.
But, like I've said before, I fully expect it won't matter because by 2019 we will have a new HC and new offensive position coaches.

We could not at least given Tyke a fricking call? Guess what he can do? Teach receivers AND recruit!!!! Then maybe we could have got a 84 white guy to be our QB coach. Wait.....I forgot our new OC is known for his incredible QB development.

They couldn't relate to Coach Pete either, right? Oh...they all love him. Perhaps age is not that big of a factor after all?

Sammy, why in the frick are you negative about everything in life? Sullivan is a legendary coach, has some gas in his tank, and will be a good recruiter because he has street cred and kids know they will learn how to ply big time college and pro ball. You don’t Understand things like this.

So I looked on YouTube and saw some videos of him teaching and oh my gosh..,... he can actually teach WR. Who would have thought that a guy who has been teaching NFL wide outs actually might know what he is talking about. From what I could tell he was pretty adament about technique and the little things.
The "Old White Men" comments from all the 15 year old geeks on here are asinine. The best Staffs in the NFL (Patriots) and College (Bama) are mainly composed of Old White Men that can coach.
Just send Dameyune Craig 2.0/MJ out recruiting WR's and out of the way at practice.
My main concern with the Offense is not Ensminger/Sullivan or no Fournette/Guice type RB or QB inexperience, it's once again Offensive Line.
NO Will Clapp is panic stuff. Who's the Center? Who makes the line calls? Don't see anybody that can step in and do that consistently well enough.
Cushenberry is not the answer. Move Deculus to Center in the Spring and hope Cole Smith can add weight and play over his head as a TF. That's the only hope looking at it realistically. Hopefully Cregg is a Miracle Worker OL coach and can fix it..........

Who is in their 70s? Especially at Bama, where Saban loads up on recruiters as assistants which Ed clearly doesn't want to follow. Sullivan was already in grade school when Dante Scarnecchia was born. The only LSU assistants younger than Patricia and McDaniels are Aranda and Meatball.

The guy is a very good coach and is 73. Joseph is much younger but has no idea what he is doing. You choose.
