Auburn 2008, preseason #10, went 5-7, averaged 17.3 ppg (112/120)
Clemson 1998, preseason unranked, went 3-8, averaged 19.8 ppg (89/112)
Clemson 1997, preseason #18, went 7-5, averaged 24 ppg (62/112)
Texas A&M, preseason #13, went 6-6, 29.2 ppg (35/111)
Texas A&M, preseason #3, went 9-3, finished year ranked 15, 27.2 ppg (38/108)
Texas A&M, preseason #15, went 10-0-1, finished year ranked 8, 29 ppg (30/107)

So his only successful stint was with A&M 20 years ago, where the team steadily declined despite high expectations. Auburn and Clemson OC jobs were disasters. This guy has no business being a candidate as OC anywhere.

O might be boneheaded, but I dont think he's this boneheaded to roll with a TE coach as his top tiered hire. You're asking to get run out of BR after a stupid loss next year.

Conveniently leaves out games where he was the OC at LSU.

Look I don't want him either, but don't leave out the part where he broke records at LSU.

Conveniently leave out the fact that he was running SOMEONE ELSE'S OFFENSE.

It's one thing to be a play caller, it's another to build an offense.

ETA: I'd be willing to bet my life that if Ensminger is hired, you'd see Cam Cameron's offense on the field. Guaranteed.

Ensminger was one of the hottest names in the country when he was at Georgia and Texas A&M. That coincided with some bad years at LSU, so it was painful as a fan to watch a former LSU QB excel, while we sucked.

I don't want Ensminger as our OC now, but long ago virtually every LSU fan did.

I do like him as part of the staff, as I believe he is a good coach.

I do no believe he will be the OC. Just my opinion.

He was an interim hire running someone else's offense for half a year, good or bad I didn't think it was a good way to judge him and I couldn't pull the stats I used for the other years.

And lets not act like he was a world beater at LSU, he ran it up against shitty teams and scored a total of 10 points against good defenses.

lol I love the "broke records" post. What was the complaint about miles/cam?... open the fn playbook, and let the studs do work. He did exactly that! No magic, no special scheme, no crazy play calling! He just called more than 15 plays and didn't go ultra conservative sitting on the lead after half. Why can't y'all see that? Miles' fear to open the playbook killed his job and LSU offense. Ensminger just opened the playbook.

What useful records?

Did he break yards per game? Points per game? Did Etling have any meaning number of passing yards? Did we throw for 20 TDS?

Yards in a cane and single game rushing records are nice but Have more to do with the player than the play.

O and E coaches the easy part of the schedule except for Bama where their real colors showed.

What records, least combined points scored against UF and Bama in the same season?

O had no business being a head coach, yet here we are. Making a tradition of promoting a position coach to an undeserved position.

They also leave out that those Records were against teams ranked 90th or worse on Total D. I believe 100th or worse against the run. What happened when faced against teams with a Heartbeat on D?...
