It's widely speculated, if not assumed, that Jimbo would probably jump if LSU offered.
Unless he absolutely hates Tallahassee, I have yet to hear one logical reason why Jimbo Fisher would want to leave to come to LSU? Does anyone in their right mind think that he would leave a place where it is EASIER to compete for a National Championship to come to a school that plays in the most competitive conf. in America and also just ran off a coach who (at this point) has never won fewer than 8 games in a regular season?
All fans are delusional, but LSU fans might be hitting a crescendo at this point. I'm no huge fan of Miles, but the most likely scenario to happen if LSU fired him at the end of the season is not that they would get Jimbo Fisher, but that they would quickly realize that every big-name coach is not sitting around waiting for LSU to call and they would be left with someone Larry fricking Fedora as the "best available option."

Jimbo would leave a state with no state income tax, in a relatively easy conference to take over LSU where you have to compete against the Alabama and Mississippi schools every year. And, then have UF in addition to all that as a permanent opponent too. Jimbo would be crazy to leave FSU for LSU.

He's used to playing UF every year as well as recruiting against them the other 364 days of the year.
To bring this back to the original question, If Jimbo is willing to leave FSU for LSU, would he also be willing to leave for UGA? Would LSU lose out on him if Miles stays a year longer than Richt? I would say no. From what the "experts" on the rant say, there are non-football related reasons for him to move back to Baton Rouge that UGA wouldn't provide.

I said "too" as in addition. Playing UF at FSU isn't so bad when you're playing in the ACC. But, having to play UF and the rest of the SEC West is a lot to take on. Understand now?

I'd much rather be a single millionaire in Athens than in Baton Rouge.

Haven't heard of one legit reason. Other than some puff piece article saying he enjoyed living in Louisiana

What's funny?
You kid you.
SEC better than ACC
Jimbo knows once Saban is out the way LSU would run the SEC.
Has to recruit one state and again with Saban gone would have zero competition.
LSU could pay more and after several ships he would be highest paid coach in college football.
FLA and Miami will be back very soon and that'll end yalls recruiting by default. Fla St has peaked.
Is it so funny now kid??

Richt should be safe at least for a year but his time could be coming soon.

Why would Jimbo leave FSU? He has a cakewalk to the CFP every year there. He could easily win 2-3 national titles there over the course of the next decade.

Look, I'd love to have Jimbo of course. But that link doesn't prove anything. It's coach speak.

No way does Jimbo leave FSU for LSU or UGA IMO. He has it easy right now. He's been cleaning up recruiting wise in FL (and will continue to hit SFL with Miami being a dumpster fire) and plays 2 teams a year with comparable talent to FSU.
I also don't see why LSU fans believe Jimbo is their savior. He's had comparable talent at FSU with a much easier schedule yet still finds a way to derp some games up when he doesn't have Jameis at QB.

Do what Tom Osborne did at Nebraska after getting beat by Oklahoma for years straight and make some changes to schemes and then start to dominate Bama
Are you really comparing Miles to Tom Osborne? Really? Osborne was in complete control during games, while Les has to have people around him to constantly tell him what's going on on the field!

This. He's a Richt/Miles level coach who had an exceptional talent, though to be fair, he actually did win it all with that talent.

How many coaches leave a top program to go to another top program? FSU may not be LSU, but it's a top job in a much easier conference. He left LSU to be the HC in waiting there. It's not going to happen.

Seriously if you're Jimbo why the hell would you leave FSU?
Already has:
Easier path to NC
Same money
Great recruiting area

Ignoring the fact that every single starter from that title team has been or will be drafted. Including ~4 first rounders. FSU has put more players into the league in the past 3 years than any other team in CFB history. Jimbo has built something special out of a dying program. He's > Richt/Miles.

Not saying he's the savior. I'm saying he'd leave FLA St to go to LSU. Georgia...hell no Georgia hasn't been relevant since the 80's.

If you go back and read, it wasn't meant to prove anything. It was supporting my point that he has publicly expressed his affinity for LSU and LA. I think it's a little more than coach's speak because it backs up things I've heard.
I'm under no delusions about being anything more than a peon in the grand scheme of things, but I have heard a few things second/thirdhand from people that have a good idea.
There are rumors that Jimbo has asked for certain things from the boosters and received pushback... this would not happen at LSU.
If anyone is a premium 247 subscriber, they would have read recently that LSU is viewed as a very realistic possibility from both sides. Am I guaranteeing it? No. Certain things have to fall into place for it to work. But it's a distinct possibility.
Regarding the SEC angle and how hard it is, I believe that most dominant coaches have too big of an ego to look at it as a hindrance. I get tired of listening to SEC homerism all the time, but it's still the premier football conference, and it would be viewed as a challenge. He wouldn't really take a step back in recruiting resources. In fact, he would probably take a step forward, especially if he can retain Orgeron and Wilson.
