Well we all know if it's on a message board, it's got to be truth.

So let's get this straight Steve spurrier is going to go to college station to coach the offense, Chavis to coach the defense!

Why do they need Sumlin?

if you want to laugh, picture kyler murray trying to run a Spurrier offense

What's wrong with Murray running that type of offense? Murray should have never seen the field as a true freshman. It's ridiculous that QB depth was that low and he should have been told beforehand that he was getting redshirted.

One major problem that is messing a lot of QBs up, is throwing them out there before they are ready. The fact that we as fans yell about wanting some new hotshot fresh on campus freshman to start is asinine.

Mike Bobo allowed 5th year senior Cox to start all year in 2009 so he didn't have to rush 5 star Aaron Murray's development.

Jimbo Fisher had EJ Manuel when 5 star Jameis Winston stepped on campus. Winston was obviously at least the 2nd best QB once he stepped on the field there. He decided to let Jameis gain weight and build muscle and learn his advanced offense, without any distractions of being the 1st man off the bench in case of injury.

Now there are some that do well as true freshman (recently: Brad Kaaya, Josh Rosen, Brett Rypien, what little Deshaun Watson did, etc), but the vast majority are just not ready.

How is the seat not getting warm for sumlin? Guy may be one of the most spectacularly overrated coaches to come along in awhile. He literally hasn't won a damn thing of significance in college station.

He shouldn't be getting paid 5 mill, but Sumlin has made TAMU relevant. He got recruits to want to come there. His win record so far is the best since Slocum back in the 90s. He is also trying to build the defense back up and at least the pass defense is WAY up.

It's ridiculous what Chavis has done to the pass defense.

2014
83rd in yards given up per game
57th in pass TDs given up
69th yards given up per pass

2015
5th in yards given up per game
5th in pass TDs given up
11th in yards given up per pass

For an added bonus, 21.6 ppg given up in 2015 compared to 28.1 last year.

It would be stupid to fire Sumlin unless they got a guy like Tom Herman. Kyle Allen is a head case and Kyler Murray needs to develop. They also have Tate Martell for 2017.

Thoughts if true?

Spurrier would improve the LSU offense immediately, and he wouldn't allow his play-calls to be over-turned.

I'm not sure Spurrier and Miles could work together, but the offense would be better if they could.

The guy who is claiming that it's going to happen also called the Chavis hire very early. I believe it. At least, I hope it's true. But Spav is definitely out as OC.

Then they better hire at least one assistant who has prior successful head coaching experience at the P5 level.

BC if things get even a little tough, Spurrier's gonna be repeating the bye Felecia show all over again.

"Kyler" isn't South Caolina Quartback-sounding enough. Not buying it.

This seems really silly. Spurrier would look terrible if he quit his job midseason and does not retire completely.

I hope it is true. Spurrier hasn't had the kind of talent he'd have at A&M since his UF days. He'd also be able to just focus on offense. It'd be awesome, and it wouldn't surprise me if true. Obviously, I have no idea if it is true or not, though.

Why in the hell would a guy like Spurrier choose OC at A&M? This man has been at the head of the class and folks think he would be an OC and take orders from someone who he would look down upon. Anything is possible but IMHO this is absurd.

It makes zero sense on several levels. If the guy who posted it hadn't been lucky guessing on us hiring Chavis nobody would have paid attention

It's ludicrous to think SOS would stoop to being an OC. It's an insult to even ask him to do that given his top flight accomplishments as a HBC.
