PHILADELPHIA -- Doug Pederson's status as Philadelphia Eagles head coach is not firm, and he could be out if owner Jeffrey Lurie is not confident about Pederson's vision for the team after they meet again soon, sources tell ESPN.

Pederson and Lurie are expected to meet again early this week in Florida after discussions this past Tuesday did not go well, according to sources.

Lurie's concerns extend well beyond struggling quarterback Carson Wentz, according to sources, and there are a number of outstanding issues ranging from personnel to coaching staff outlook.

As an eagles fan, I really hope we fire him and the GM.

I'll always be thankful for him winning a superbowl, but it's become clear he is not the man to lead the team moving forward.

I think Pederson is a good coach, but it may best for both parties to move on and a change of scenery.

Eagles reports are hinting that there may be a "trade" in the works to send Pederson to the Jets.

That way they don't have to openly fire their only superbowl winning coach.

Jets GM was the #2 guy in Philly when Pederson was hired and won the superbowl so there's a connection there. Also sounds like Jets owner is a big fan of Pederson. No idea what value he'd get though

He has made the playoffs 3 years + won a Super Bowl with a backup QB who hasn’t found a place since. There are a handful of coaches that can say that.

The worst thing Philly could do is fire Pederson, but it may be the best thing for Pederson. Another team will pick him up quickly- he would be unemployed for the amount of time it takes for a team to write up a contract.

I think time will tell that that run had a lot more to do with an incredible run of success by the front office more than Pederson. He wouldn’t be the first coach to get exposed after winning it all

Since winning the superbowl he is 21-21-1 and both playoff appearances since then were 9-7 seasons where the eagles limped into the playoffs. Both seasons ended on 4 game winning steaks to make the playoffs

Losing your mvp qb and then winning the super bowl is incredibly impressive no matter how you try to spin it.

LOL he should have been fired the morning after that Sunday night debacle. Just the negative PR alone should have gotten Lurie's attention.

Cut Wentz, start Hurts, and Hire Lincoln Riley or Joe Brady as HC. Go all in on the new NFL.

Getting fired from the Eagles worked out well for Andy Reid.

It did, and I'm thrilled for Reid. Both parties needed a split, and because of it both got a superbowl.

I think Pederson can still be successful. It's his first HC job and he has struggled to sustain success which I hope (for his sake) he learns from. He refused to hire an OC this year and instead had like 5 offensive analysts all telling him what plays to call.

Howie Roseman is really the one that should be fired. He’s the one that has consistently missed on draft picks and handed Pederson a roster with brittle veterans that consistently miss multiple games with injuries

They always have so many injuries.

I think he is a pretty good offensive coach.

Think its just time to move on. Seems like time expired on that team. Ertz will be gone. Wentz might be gone. Graham is getting older. Like i said time is expiring

He’s obviously a good coach. I think injuries played a part, but also it seems the league’s DC’s have caught up with his offense. Wentz’s injuries and regression has been the final nail I think. Eagles and Pederson both need to make a change.

I think we have different understandings of what it means to limp into the playoffs.

Only Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones are worse owners. Lurie ran Andy Reid out of town now gonna do the same to the only super bowl winning coach in Philly history.

Thats how i look at it.

They were still relying on a 38 yr old jason peters. At one point they were relying on him at 2 diff spots on the line.
Dillard was a miss.

Seems like lurie wants him to fire a bunch of coaches and he won't, on top of other things

I don't think he will be the eagles coach next year
