Sounds like Matt Luke will be the head coach at Ole Miss.

Nothing official yet but it sounds like Matt Luke will be announced tomorrow as the head coach at Ole Miss. I think it will be leaked tonight at Ole Miss team meeting.

it's the best option imo
let Luke ride out the post sanction years then go after someone. With so many vacancies this year and given their situation, they werent getting anyone of note

Maybe so. But it’s pretty interesting that the university jet just landed in Boca Raton.

Ole Miss could've had Kiffin, Strong, Morris, Wilson and a lot better candidates. Luke wasn't getting this job until Ole Miss won the egg bowl.

Good move for Ole Miss. No need in breaking the bank in an over saturated market when they are staring down the NCAA's barrel.

That's not a bad hire for ole miss considering their situation. He's an ole miss alum and ex player, he knows the program, has coached at ole miss for a while now, and im sure he has the programs best interest in mind. He also doesn't have that scumbag feeling about him like hugh freeze did. I like matt luke at ole miss and I think he is the best fit for them. Ole miss just needs a coach that truly cares about the program right now. They need someone to clean their program up, and I think luke will do that. They won't be winning many games for a while anyway, no matter who the coach is after the sanctions get handed down. It's a solid move imo.

I hate OM, but this is a smart move. Keep things in house and tight to ride out the storm. Every time you get turned down publicly, and it’s ALL public now, is a PR hit. OM carries on and avoids unneeded extra turmoil.

I thought he was a big MS state guy? I used to do some flights for their flight department and I thought I remembered everyone there being state fans.

Exactly what I am thinking. Matt luke seems like a good dude who will at the very least will get ole miss back to doing things the right way. frick miss st, I'm glad mullen left their sorry asses and I'm glad ole miss beat them too. I look for miss st to get up on probation here in the next few years too. I think this is their chance to possibly get a leg up on ole miss in ms, and they will be looking to do whatever possible to make sure they capitalize on ole miss' hard times...they will be looking to cheat in otherwords. State will go down soon, especially now that theyre desperate after they lost mullen to florida and their program is in jeopardy.
