yeah a former SEC nose guard wouldn't have the balls to tell a midget that was physically scared of Dennis Franchionne that he'll no longer be his employee. Gotcha.

They run a lot of 3-3-5. When people see the 3 down lineman, they always assume its a 3-4 when its not.

Davis or Haley. Two peas in a pod. Neither have impressive credentials. Either one would be a weak hire. Why is LSU scrapping the bottom of the barrell on this DL coach hire. That's BS. Why aren't we going after some of the top DL coaches in the country, instead of the bargain basement ones that have been mentioned so far?. LSU can't do better than this?.....

Who exactly do you think are the top DL coaches in the country? And what motivation would they have in coming to LSU? Because LSU is the football capital of the world?

Might as well hire an experienced high school coach. Yeah. lets go hire a "Strength and Conditioning" guy and yet another in the long line of Saban "Chase Aways" to coach the DL. Awesome.....

It's not clear to me that a guy Saban took to Miami is a chase-away -- the fact that he's talking to Miles may have something to do with his LSU connections.

But Miles should have enough confidence in his recruiting and talent at this point to know that this team needs coaches. Asst. Defensive line coach? Hmmm.

Haley's resume doesn't look impressive either.

There's that big of a dropoff after Bebe...really?

is it a little strange that neither of the guys mentioned are seemingly fantastic coaches nor fantastic recruiters. they should be one or the other, at least, IMO.

He's incapable. He really is one of the dumbest people on the site, if not in the world.

I don't recall his play as a tiger either.

Don't know anything about him as a coach, but he was a helluva player for us. He just picked a bad time to be a Tiger. He was one of the few bright spots on that 2-9 team in '92 we had. Really tough, hard nose player.

Speaking of DL coaches,I had heard some talk about Jimmy Brumbaugh, who played DL for Auburn in the late 90's and was a GA here in '07.Any more on that ,or did that go away quickly ?

Davis got busted for steroids while playing at LSU. I am not sure he is the kind of guy LSU needs in the program right now

'59, you just don't make it to the big time in a place like LA Tech then leave.

are you implying that he's not that special ? I was just going on something I'd heard without wanting to start a new thread.

No, it's kind of a joke. Someone posted on another board that he knows Brumbaugh personally and that Brumbaugh will listen to LSU about the DL job. Like it there would ever be doubt and we needed an insider to break the news.

If you look at just his/her coaching changes posts, it's got to be top 3.
