He’s done this before. He wasn’t banking on a guy who had every reason to lead him on. It’s just part of the business. He might have wanted LR but unless he’s an idiot he was never actually counting on him. Woodward isn’t an “LSU fan”. He works for LSU. He’s doing a job for which he is well-compensated. It’s not personal for him.

Well said. Woodward is one of the best AD’s in the country. Do y’all really think he got played and has no backup plan? This isn’t Joe Alleva we’re talking about here…have some faith!

Two days ago Jordy said that he’s heard from an inside source that said “ He doesn’t know where all the Lincoln smoke is coming from but he thinks we’re chasing a ghost “ then a day later Lincoln signs with USC I don’t believe LR had an offer from LSU it was a smoke screen that was created by USC but I think Woody has his guy

There has been reports with local media that are still buddies with dave and his people that he hasn't been contacted for the job. So I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Though if Woody went all in on him after this Sat. he could probably be had, that is unless Oklahoma makes a strong play for him also. .

I agree, no coach who decided to leave for LSU would really care at this point not to go ahead and pull the ripcord. You can care for the athletes you recruited but at some point you let your OC take over and head south...

I agree with you. Woodward no different than Alleva. Unless he has magical powers to force someone to do his will, the targets will do what they would’ve done if it was alleva making the offer.
Bottom line, timing is everything. And it seems like Woodward did not time this correctly.
