Wins the games hes supposed to win for the most part.
The big thing is hes doing it at Missouri , which doesnt exactly produce mass in state talent.
Hes not my first , second ,or third pick. But I wouldnt turn my nose up at the guy.

Winless since 2020 against SEC teams that finished with a winning record.
If Drinkwitz is hired, I'm making a lifestyle change each fall because LSU football damn sure won't be part of them. He'd be the worst LSU football hire in a generation.

He looks like a Mormon accountant and is abysmal against teams with a pulse

We just fired a guy with the same reputation
Drink isn't a "bad coach". He's a high floor guy. A program like Mizzou is lucky to have him. We're looking for a ceiling raiser though. If he's the guy then we might as well have just stuck with Kelly.

Pretty sure he beat Tenn in 2023 who was ranked 13th at the time

Explain how he is elite?
Because thats what we need.

Yeah theres no chance we get somebody elite. Mainly because there is nobody elite right now thats poachable. Not even Lane is "elite". Saban isnt coming.

He hasn’t beaten teams that are better than his, but he’s played teams like LSU, Bama, and Tennessee down to the last drive with an inferior roster. And those losses haven’t come down to him being a retard with the clock or the rules like a guy like Cristobal.
I think he’s a really good coach. He’s leveled up the level of player at Missouri in a time where they should be getting less and less successful with the way the SEC has changed since they entered the conference. Not to mention the mess he inherited at Missouri when he started.
He still wouldn’t be my first option for LSU but he would be a really good consolation prize

While I agree in the coaching sense, Kelly needed to go not only for results but also because he was pretty much retired
Drink is 42. I think he's limited so I wouldn't be a fan, but he'd be motivated at least

Hell, someone who is batting 50% vs top 25 teams would be better than Drink.

How can you say that when it’s pretty much confirmed Kelly had quit on the program?
The dude quite literally was playing golf or going on vacation instead of doing his job

Well, he's not Saban......and he's not a troller like Lane Kiffin

This is quite honestly all LSU needs. The kast three motivated coaches won it all.
BK didnt give a frick.

He’s not. The issue right now is there’s a loud portion of the fan base that will consider anyone other than Kiffin or Saban as a “bad” hire.
There are tiers, and Drink would fall into the solid one

Missouri dude.
If JD didnt run all over them they would have been in the playoff.

What I have seen from people is not pointing out that hes a bad Coach they are just pointing out his record for ranked opponents as a reason to not hire him as we just fired someone who struggled with that consistently here.

Such as? There’s like 8 of these guys that are active. And Kirby or Lanning ain’t coming

Missouri dude.
Missouri was the SEC East Champ twice before Drink.

He's not. He's a great fit for Missouri, he recruits well for Missouri, hires pretty decent around himself, but hasn't upset anyone with a better team than his. like someone else mentioned - he's a high floor guy - probably would have LSU at 9-3 every year but ceiling would probably be 10-2.

The only difference between him and Brian Kelly is that one is a smug, yankee douche bag and the other is a glasses-wearing weirdo. You don’t pay Brian Kelly’s buyout to hire the nerdy, bizzaro version of him
